Took the weekend off from the NBA and focused on NFL and didnt do too badly. Early games today and there are some good ones on the board.
1. Cavs have played fairly well during their west coast road trip and have shown up in games against Portland and straight up wins at Denver and LA Lakers. The public is absolutely loving Dallas as 99% have played the ML and 80% are on Dallas -1.5. Dallas is coming off a blowout loss at home to Portland and now have to travel East for a rare 1pm start. I think we fade the public today with a value play on Cleveland at home.
2. Raptors and Bobcats meet again and both meetings this season were decided by 2 points with Charlotte winning both. That was before the Raptors started playing like a team that can contend in the East. Now the Cats will be without Kemba Walker today as he is out with an injured ankle. They will be missing him as hes been solid in the backcourt this season averaging 18.7 PPG and 5 AST. Sessions takes over at PG but I dont see that being enough to cover the spread against this feisty Raptors team who are coming off a tough loss at home to the Lakers where they were beaten almost single handedly by Nick Young from 3pt range. Charlotte doesnt have the capacity to do the same. Raptors -5.
3. Pistons are 1-7 at home vs the West this season and those 7 losses are by an average margin of 14 PPG. The "new look" Pistons are in the 6th playoff spot in the East but they are 6 games below .500 and have no legitimacy, especially vs the West. Clippers on the other hand are 4th in the West and 3-2 ATS in their last 5 road games. Those games were against IND, NY, SA, DAL, POR. I dont see them having difficulty in Detroit this afternoon. Small play on LA Clippers -4.
4. Brooklyn is 6-1 SU and ATS in 2014 and have woken up and are playing great basketball. They are still without Brook Lopez but Deron Williams will play today. They were blown out last time vs NY and I expect them to venge that loss here today. The Knicks have lost 4 straight ATS and are in a funk. The line opened at NY pk and has moved up to BRK -1.5. 62% of the public favoring Brooklyn and they should be on the right side of what should be a great battle today. Brooklyn -1.5
Check back later today as I post my plays for the evening games including Miami/Atlanta.
Good luck everyone.
