Pacers ML
Reason behind this play are the following:
- Pacers at home
- Pacers revenge factor for getting knocked out in the playoffs by the Bulls. Think the Pacers will want to get off to a strong start.
- Young head coach who will want to have his guy go hard the entire game. Pacers will a middle of the pack team last year and Vogel understands that for them to get over the hump, they need to have their guys go hard for 48 minutes, including the preseason
- Acquisition of David West. Think he adds a nice dynamic of a solid rebounder and an excellent mid range jump shooter.
- Pacers depth rivals that of the Bulls depth. George Hill, AJ Price, Brandon Rush, Hansborough, Jeff Foster and Danthay Jones are a solid group of bench players
- Bulls motivation may not be as strong as the Pacers motivation. Yes the Bulls did get knocked out of the playoffs earlier than they wanted to but I believe that they are confident enough in their roster that playing their starters huge minutes in the preseason is unlikely. I suspect that they know they can cruise through their 2 preseason games without much concern related to actually winning these games.
With all that said, I think the Pacers pull this one off by 6 points
