The Michael vs. LeBron argument is getting a lot of attention these days, which is pretty interesting because there isn’t much in common between the two players’ game.
Fair or unfair, LeBron James is not considered to be a lethal closer the way Michael Jordan was in his heyday. Maybe part of the reason is because LBJ doesn’t get calls the why MJ did.
Come on, even the LeBron haters have to agree with me. Think of all the big games LeBron has had the ball in his hands late, drove the lane and the only whistle he hears is for an offensive foul.
He got called for that late in a game against Chicago in the Eastern Conference final and then there was this non-call last night when Shawn Marion obviously should have got whistled for a foul.

There is no way in the world Michael Jordan wouldn’t have gotten that call in the same circumstance. And this is coming from a 30-year-old guy who still has an MJ poster hanging in his man cave.
Referees instinctively called a foul anytime MJ got blocked. I’m sure it was an unwritten rule. His Airness can’t get rejected.
James doesn’t get that treatment. Think about this. Michael averaged 11.7 free throw attempts in his last NBA Finals (1998) whereas LeBron is averaging just 4.3 shots from the line in this year’s Finals.
Maybe it’s just fallout from the Tim Donaghy scandal but the best player on the planet definitely right now isn't getting calls like the best player of all-time used to.

Lebron is not MJ he is a fucking power forward who can handle the ball anywhere on the court and create points for himself and his teammates..
Listen, you give MJ some solid teammates and you could not create a team to beat him in the playoffs. He's the only player in the history of the league I am willing to say that about.
On the other hand you have Lebron who's going to get you a 60 something win team as the leader of just about any assortment of NBA players.
Those are both special talents but the trophy is the goal. Lebron is not a guard he has no midrange game. The rest of the court is under his control but he needs a teammate who can hold his own in that zone. Michael had control of the whole court.
Now some people will say he couldnt win without Wade which is like saying you need a truck to kill a fly. He couldn't win with Boobie Gibson. Who could besides Jordan?
