While Philadelphia Eagles fans are probably still celebrating
their Super Bowl blowout of Kansas City, fans of the
Philadelphia 76ers are close to saying, “Let us up. We’ve
had enough.” Philly’s 124-104 home loss to hated Boston
on Thursday night pushed the Sixers’ current losing streak
to six straight, and they fell to a season-worst 15 games
under .500. Ditto for Brooklyn, who, despite a recent 6-1
SU win skein, fi nds itself with an identical 20-35 record,
locked in a duel with Philly to chase down the Chicago Bulls
for the tenth and fi nal playoff spot. As we see it, there is no
better way for a team to snap a six-game losing streak than
against a weak foe who beat them in an earlier meeting.
We’re talking serious revenge here after a 100-96 loss in
Brooklyn just ten days ago; that’s because the Sixers have
owned this series of late, winning two of this season’s
three meetings to stand 12-3 SU and 9-3-1ATS the last
13 games versus the Nets, including 9-1 SU and 8-1 ATS
as a favorite. Brooklyn has shown a bad habit of playing
down to the level of weak opposition this season, going
just 12-24 ATS versus sub .400 foes, including 8-17 ATS
if the same foe is looking to avenge a same-season loss.

noting that the Nets are 4-8 SUATS against sub .400 foes
with an identical win-loss record when the foe is seeking
