YTD (NBA PLAYOFFS): 2-1 ATS
Was pretty spot on with Dallas last night as the NBA again showed us what happens when the public doubts something can happen. That something was the Timberwolves going down 0-2 AGAIN, for the second straight series, and really digging themselves a ditch. This time I think it's going to be much more difficult to climb out of it.
As for tonights game, the Pacers will be missing their stud in Tyrese Haliburton but I think the spread is pretty reflective of that. Where I think the value is lies with the Boston team total, which currently sits at 114.5. I usually don't play team totals but in this case the Celtics have scored more than 115 in 8 of the last 10 they have played against the Pacers. In fact, in the games that Halliburton has missed, they have gone way over this number, even scoring 155 on one occasion! I personally feel the Celtics will roll again tonight but I really can't ignore how well the Pacers have played at home in these playoffs, and Halliburton wasn't always his usual self. But he was there, and so was his defense, and I think that is where the loss will be felt. For the Celtics to not get over this number, the Pacers will have to play the type of defense they haven't played very often. Sure, some of those games agains the Knicks were slugfests but many of them ended up over the total. I have the Celtics rolling and that means they will make it OVER 115 points in 9 of 11.
