1. Warriors (3-0) – 3 easy wins with ATS covers. Still the best team in the universe without their coach right now.
2. Thunder (3-0) – 3-0 with one character win in Orlando in Double OT, including win over the Spurs. Durant and Westbrook are already in mid season form.
3. Spurs (2-1) – Lost in OKC and then waxed BK and Bos. They’re going to be soooooo good with LA. Needs some time. Looking good right now.
4. Clippers (3-0) – 3-0, but no impressive games yet. They have home Suns, @ GS, home Rockets, home Griz coming up. They’re solid right now, we’ll see how they do this week.
5. Cavaliers (2-1) – Lost a game, but still 3-0 ATS. @Phi, NY, Phi, Ind, Uta coming up. They can win those 5 in a row for sure. 7-1 will be a great start for the Cavs without Kyrie.
6. Heat (2-1) – Lost at Cavs, but two nice wins at home keeps them up here. They have a tough week coming up. We’ll see if they can stay in top 6.
7. Grizzlies (2-1) – Blown out vs Cavs, but then two easy wins. Big road trip coming up right now. Would be huge if they can go 3-2 in their next five on the road.
8. Hawks (3-1) – 3-1, but only loss was at home to Pistons opening night. Three easy wins @NY, and home and home vs Hornets is nothing special. @Mia, BK, @NO, Was next 4. 3-1 would be great for them in that stretch.
9. Bulls (3-1) – Hoiberg has them playing solid ball right now. Only loss was in OT to a Pistons team that’s 3-0 right now. Home vs OKC on Thursday night will be fun.
10. Raptors (3-0) – They look really good. I may have underrated them to start, but we’ll see what they do with 4 straight road games right now. I think they go 2-2 at best in these four, but we’ll see if they exceed my expectations again this week.
11. Wizards (2-1) – Wiz kids had 2 big road wins and then had a stinker at home to the Knicks. Tough 4 games coming up. They could actually lose all four. (SA, @Bos, @Atl, OKC, and then Magic has revenge coming up. Interested to see how they do in these next five.
12. Suns (2-1) – After the bad loss at home to Dallas, they took a home and home vs Blazers. My west sleeper this year looks solid. @LAC tonight should be a great game. Suns can make a statement tonight.
13. Pistons (3-0) – Fantastic start. 3-0 ATS and SU to start season. They could possibly be 6-0 before they go to GS. Fun team and coach right now.
14. Rockets (0-3) – Didn’t know how far down to move them. Last week they were 6. They’ve played three horrible games, but have injuries. No time to panic. They’ll probably surprise and beat OKC tonight at home. Not worried.
15. Jazz (2-1) – Defense is just ridiculous. They’re going to grind a ton of games out and wear teams down like they did the other night in IND on back to back after a bad 1st half. Gobert is such a solid defensive anchor. Fun to watch if you like defense.

16. Pelicans (0-3) – I’m not panicking or overreacting. They’ve played the best team in the NBA (Warrior) twice in first 3 games and their 3rd loss was a back end of back to back games. They’re injured, but will be fine.
17. Celtics (1-2) – Haven’t looked good yet with a messy rotation, but I think Stevens will figure it out.
18. Magic (0-3) – They’re 0-3, but they have looked very tough. They were my east sleeper to get the 8 seed and if they can finish games, they’ll get that 8 seed. Lost by 1 vs Wash, 3 vs OKC in Double OT, and lost by 5 in Chicago. Could’ve won all 3 and should’ve won 2 of them. Love this team to keep covering.
19. Bucks (0-3) – 0-3, but injured. They should win at least 3 of their next 4 against @BK, Phi, @NY, BK. They’ll be fine once players return. May struggle to cover, though.
20. Knicks (2-1) – Surprise of week 1 with wins in MIL and WAS. SA at home and @ Cle will be fun tests.
21. Kings (1-2) – Beat Lakers and lost two vs Clips. 4 of next 5 are at home. No real feel on this team yet.
22. Mavericks (2-1) – Not sold. They act have three straight home games in which they may be favored in all three, but they could be nice fades.
23. Timberwolves (2-0) – They could go 4-0 with home games vs POR and MIA coming up. Towns is a MONSTER. They’re fun and can quickly move up rankings with few more wins. Not overreacting yet, though. Too young.
24. Trail Blazers (1-2) – Beat a banged up Pelicans team in a bad spot and then lost home and home to PHO. No front court will be rough for them.
25. Hornets (0-3) – I still think they’ll be bad, but they’ve played three tough games against Heat and twice vs Hawks. Rough schedule coming up. Could possibly be 0-8.
26. Nuggets (1-2) – This team is going to be really bad. Mudiay has potential, but just a weird team with odd pieces that don’t work.
27. Pacers (0-3) – I was down more on the Pacers than most, but I really did not like what I saw even against solid teams to start the season. 0-3 ATS, can’t defend the post, no chemistry right now. Wonder if Vogel could be on the hot seat in a few months.
28. Nets (0-3) – Have played three good teams, but are horrible. Game vs Lakers on Friday will be gross.
29. Lakers (0-3) – This team is so so so bad, can’t defend anyone and is poorly coached. Already 0-3 ATS.
30. 76ers (0-3) – Just brutal. They have already lost by 17 and 28 points against average teams. Have Cle, @Mil, @Cle next three. Good luck with that Philly. Noel and Okafor are intriguing though. Just no depth and injured. 2nd halves could be auto fades.
16. Pelicans (0-3) – I’m not panicking or overreacting. They’ve played the best team in the NBA (Warrior) twice in first 3 games and their 3rd loss was a back end of back to back games. They’re injured, but will be fine.
