Today will be the Lakeshow's 21st appearance this season on either TNT, ESPN, or ABC.  So far they're a crummy 10-10 SU & 5-13-2 ATS.  Sometimes the Lakers show up for these games and sometimes they don't, but one thing's for sure - their opponent is often a great bet to try harder than they will.

From Covers Expert David Chan, who has his free play today on the Lakers:

The Lakers were favored by 6 when these teams played in LA, and the game landed. A 7-point flip for a swap of home court suggests that the Magic should be favored by one point only here.

Adding fuel to this fire, these teams met in last year’s Finals with a bit more on the line. The Lakers took that series 4-1, including the last two games in Orlando. I’m not 100% sure why the Lakers are getting points here but I think we need to take them.

Actually, I think I know why the market erroneously says this game is 3. The line has more to do with the struggles the Lakers have shown on this East Coast road trip, but that’s the Laker way, isn’t it? If it’s only March, the Lakers aren’t that motivated to win in Charlotte or even Miami. The Lakers will raise their game here for a televised game against an opponent they actually respect.


My dog could come up with better reasoning than that.

ORL is 2-5 against the spread their last 7 games as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5.

Can anyone tell me the last time LAL lost 3 in a row?

This Lakers lineup has owned this magic team over the past year.

This thread has some of the best reading on covers this entire season.  2 juggernauts in one thread.  And its not the Lakers and Magic.

I think it was around the line was around 2.5.  Anyway, I find it interesting if the line does not move up higher than that Cle/Orl game since Cle was doing very well prior to that game and LA has been stinking up the join recently.


That was when Cleveland just landed Jamison.  They were struggling I think.

I took the U197 for 1 unit. It was U194, but when it jumped up 3 pts, I had to take it. Unfortunately, these refs are making sure they call all the phantom fouls possible. Are you people watching the horrible job by these refs?

lol.. had the guy not missed one of those freethrows which I was hoping for in the last 9 seconds, I would of had a push..

yes, magic played incredible.. Lakers came back incredible, with a sloppy start,
