Their future is bleak...
I don't know what their plan is if this continues.
Westbrook/George/Adams/Schroder all locked in until 2021 on huge contracts.
Is there a Plan B?
If they can't pull their act together, this could be one of the biggest basketcases the NBA has ever seen. Going down the path of Orlando Magic with the Arenas debacle.... would take them a decade to recover.

They are essentially a new team. If their on court success if crap, and their supporter base fails, they fail financially. Why do you think Charlotte changed back to the Hornets name? Because nobody gave a crap about the Bobcats and their terrible failure on court nearly killed them off.

The Knicks or Lakers could play like garbage for years and not lose a cent. Teams from basketball heartlands that have deep history, been around for years and have a fan base all over the world.
Who outside Oklahoma is a fan of OKC? They don't have that deep history or fan base. If they fail on-court, they could easily go under.
Maybe I'm wrong... perhaps people in Oklahoma love basketball and OKC have a massive loyal fanbase that stands by them no matter what..

I agree, sports is about money. What other 'pro' teams are in the state of Oklahoma (besides Oklahoma University). The answer is none. Granted the overall population of Oklahoma is not very big but OKC has the whole state to themselves. Financially they will be just fine, even if the team settles into mediocrity with occasional playoff appearances

I'm guessing you are an OKC fan.
I didn't mean to offend you. Just sick of this garbage this team puts up year after year. And I was a Supersonics fan before they were relocated....

The last team that I was a fan of was the 1984 Tigers (I am originally from Detroit). For me, being a fan of anything but winning my bet is counter intuitive to wagering.
