Shaq is a better fit in Cleveland than he was in Phoenix.
Is this the good OLE' Shaq........................NO
Is this an OLD(er) Shaq..................................YES
But this OLD Shaq does make the Cavs better right now than they were last year and they did not have to give up practically anything to get better.
I think Grant Hill may be able to give the Cavs something too as long as they do not give up anything to acquire him......may be let Joe Smith go or do not re-sign him and then pick up Grant Hill.
But, IMHO, and I got ripped in the other thread I created [CARTER TO CAVS....rumor] about this, I think the Cavs should try to get Vince Carter or Rasheed Wallace.
Even if they have to give up Boobie Gibson or D West or M. Williams with Scherbiak...........I think having a guy that can have the offense ran through him is the way to go....Carter (pick and roll) or Wallace (pick and pop)...would give the Cavs the different dimensions that a team needs to put a roster together that can defeat (and defend) the various challenges that a NBA team will face during the regular season and post season.
What everyone is forgetting, is that LBJ is a GREAT with a capital "G" player right now.....and all he needs is a little help.....albeit, it has to be the right help, but all he needs is a little help and then the Cavs are right there!
I think with Shaq on the team LBJ will have an even better year than last year (assists as he drives to the hoop will be higher) and Shaq will get more finishes in the paint off LBJ passes and missed shots as his defender rolls over to defends a driving LBJ.
Cavs are better right now with this deal......one more deal will make them surpass Orlando and be a true contender for the Title.......

Cavs lost nothing in this trade.
Clearly Ferry is trying to show that he is on the job. Now, I think they actually need to take a chance and get a WING guy and get better by letting Scberiak, D West or Illgaskas go with maybe the 1st round pick, etc..etc..etc..
But, IMHO, this was a GREAT move by the Cavs.
