but the things LBJ is doing is not "style of play"....it is his numbers.

Although Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson and Jason Kidd are all known for the triple double and may have more triple doubles than LBJ......I think (my opinion only) that LBJ will be the first player in NBA History to record a

TRIPLE QUINTUPLE......which is get over 10000 in three career statistical categories...

I think LBJ will pass Kareem....be all time leading scorer

but also surpass 10,000 career assists which is unheard for a career leading scorer to have over 10K assists

and LBJ will grab 10,000 career rebounds

once he achieves the      TRIPLE QUINTUPLE

this stuff about where is the rings debate will be not as significant when measuring what guy was the better PLAYER.....there is difference between who played on a better team vs who was the better player.

TRIPLE QUINTUPLE....barring injury will be achieved by LBJ.

Jordan will always be the GOAT (greatest of all time)

But just as he is he undisputed #1

I think LBJ will be the undisputed #2

right now, as efficient as LBJ has been every year (FYI...LBJ leads league in efficiency rating again this year for the umpteenth consective year).....he is still #2 all time behind    MJ....who must have been efficienct as all out doors to still be #1 all time over LBJ.

My point is LBJ is already #2 on this list and I think it is not coincidental.....that is exactly where LBJ will finish when he hangs up his sneakers when his career is over

Here is all you need to know and project:

LBJ entered the league in 2003....and from 2003 to now

LBJ has outscored Kobe Bryant in points scored by about 100 pts while taking 500 fewer shots.

If LBJ plays Kobe years.....he will be several thousand points passed where is KOBE is now....Kobe presently is around 31K......LBJ would be around 35K at Kobe age...easily within reach of Kareem

Is LBJ a pure shooter...NO

Does he look as smooth as KD....or other natural jump shooters

But what LBJ is ....is a guy that has Karl Matone's power

With a guards dribbling ability...with Jordan's athleticism...and magic johnson' skills........man, that all adds up to all time leading scorer to me.

He is HYBRID player.   period!

I actually heard analysts projecting LBJs numbers the other day

He is the youngest to 20,000 pts..

To me he will be the youngest to 25k, 30k...etc..etc..

He will be passing Jabbar.....but will have 10000 assists

This whole using titles to measure the player will be reassesed then......he will set a new measurement criteria

By default...he will be deemed better than everyone but MJ

Achieving a TRIPLE QUINTUPLE (10000 in 3 different categories)....it will be intellectually dishonest to say "WHO" was better other than MJ

Michael Jordan is the best.  Was the best.  Will always be the best.

Any discussion about Lebron in the same sentence as MJ or Kobe has to wait until he's won 5 rings or put up historical numbers.

just to be clear, I never said LBJ will be or is better than MJ...

MJ is the greatest of all time ....greatest nba player and greatest sports player/athlete of all time.    There is no debate there.

I do feel (my opinion) that LBJ when it is all said and done will be the undisputed #2 best nba player of all time.

I did see MJ play....from the wing championship winning shot at north carolina vs georgetown all the way to the finishing with a wimper days with the washington wizards....but YES, he is the G.O.A.T without question.

But, I have also seen LBJ every game...from the televised games in high school on ESPN up to him dominating Kobe and Durant on these recent televised regular season games....the crazy 30 ppg 60% streak...the scoring 20 ppg in 49 out of 50 games this season....and yes, I too see his greatness.

For Kobe fans...this should be a gentle smack in the face....kobe is known for his scoring....sice LBJ rookie season (2003 to-date), LBJ has scored more points than Kobe.

also, look back at kobe's first two seasons....he averaged 8.2 and 8.7 ppg.....LBJ never averaged that.......that's why I say (my opinion only) barring injury he will be at 35,000 career points when he gets to kobe's age (kobe's 31000 pts + LBJs 2000 he typically gets every year --- taking into account kobe's two young "couldn't get consistent playing time years in the league)

LBJ will be the all time scoring champ......will that make him better than MJ.....Heck NO!!!

But a TRIPLE QUINTUPLE.....over 30000 career pts.....10000 rebounds and 10000 assists.....should make him the undisputed #2 nba player of all time

Heck what NBA player has 30000 pts with 10000 assists....the accomplishment of being a premier scorer and passer seems diametrically impossible to achieve...but lbj will achieve this - barring injury.

Just like I had my popcorn and enjoyed the ride when I knew I was watching greatness before my eyes with MJ from NC to the Bulls

I am witnessing greatness with LBJ from his televised ESPN games to the crazy sic' season he is having this year and will continue to have for as long as he plays.

MJ is the greatest NBA player ever and greatest when comparing all sports athletes across all sports.

As good as LBJ is....a player will have to be nearly flawless to surpass MJ

and unfortunate for LBJ and Kobe....that's just not the case

the blimishes on their resumes can never be removed....its just there.....it does not....DOES NOT...diminish their greatness...but MJ just did not have those blimishes

1st KOBE

yes he is a 5 time champion...but three of those titles came with Shaq as the finals MVP and heck even to me regular season mvp.

So kobe was not the best player on the best team for over half of his titles.....that was never the case with MJ....6 NBA Finals...6 Finals MVPs....and 5 regular season MVPs and was probably robbed by media of at least 2 more regular season mvps

Now LBJ

I give my boy (YES I AM A LBJ FAN !!!) a pass for his years in Cleveland....those teams were all LBJ...no 2nd all star...so to me....he should be applauded for getting that Cav team to the finals that got swept by the spurs...the spurs are a dynasty and a outstanding team.......and LBJ had no legit 2nd scorer...3rd scorer

But the performance against the Mavs in the Finals is a mystery....yes we all see that the heat has a weakness inside...but the mavs did not win that series on the boards....LBJ was not LBJ....and that will never come off his resume even when he gets the TRIPLE QUINTUPLE (over 30000 pts....10000 rebs and 10000 assists - noone will have done that but him)

MJ was always at his best and if they lost --- which he didn't in the Finals --- noone can place or identify a blimish on his resume that is simply there on everyone else's resume

MJ is the undisputed best of all time.
