First off, thank you. You can start with Boston's 44-6 record at home (including playoffs) That is 88%. You can say that most of that record was in the regular season and doesn't matter, but they are 9-0 during the playoffs as well. Some of the Game 1 success can be put into the fact that Detroit was rusty but it was more the fact that their style of play isn't the best going against such a good half court D team in the Celtics. Garnett is playing lights out D and there will be plenty more 1 and dones for the Pistons tonight. They won't own the boards against the Celtics.
Pierce has stepped up and taken control of this team. He is red hot and Boston finally has the leader they need to will them to victory in a tough playoff game. Detroit has an entire roster of those players, but not one of them stepped up in Game 1. This team lives and dies by Chauncy - if he isn't playing good the Pistons usually aren't either. Also, if Ray Allen ever wakes up he creates a huge X factor that nobody is talking about. He missed several wide open 3's again last game. However, he is an asset down the stretch when Boston needs clutch free throws. That can turn a 2 point game late into a 6-7 win and cover in a hurry.
Rondo has also changed the Boston offense for the better. While erratic at times, he gives Boston the type of dribble penetration they lacked. When he gets hot he brings the energy that this team was missing. A double-edged sword that can work both ways. When this series gets back to Detroit I have no problem backing the Pistons at a similar number. Until then I'll ride Boston at this price until the wheels fall off.
Everyone will be on the Celtics tonight and everyone will be right - except Irish.

Maybe you should read that post again. What was my main reason? That the Spurs wouldn't be able to keep it up for 48 minutes. The wheels would fall off. They did, just a little too late. Also, did you not see that I was worried about the Duncan matchup? "If he goes 20/10 and establishes his game in the paint, the Lakers will be in trouble." What did he do? 30/18 with 4 blocks. I wasn't blind - I weighed both sides of the scale and made my choice. A choice that I would make again 1,000 times over.
Anyways, what solid reasons do you have to believe that Detroit will win tonight? I can think of several. Detroit caught Boston in transition and had several easy layups. If they can do this tonight and get open looks early in the clock, they have a great chance. They also turned the ball over 13 times. This won't happen again. They only shot 70% from the line and easily left a few points on the table there.

Yes. Boston reason far outweigh the Pistons reasons. Boston is on the way up, while Detroit appears to be on the way down. I would still like hear more Detroit logic, because I haven't heard much other than "I'm on the Pistons." I haven't heard the full-blown type of stuff I need to hear to back off Celtics bets.

Those Wallace rainbows will start dropping. I wouldn't be shocked if he hits two or three tonight.
