tied or losing by a few points and immediately goes to his "hack" strategy. He lost the finals by choosing not to foul yet decides to do it in games with little to no meaning. At least show some class and dignity as a coach!!

Strategy WORKED -- 12-26 from the FT line -- Josh Smith was an allstar and he is doing that? Him and Rondo never gonna win anything hanging at the line like that NOTHING

Very observant. That's exactly what happened. Once he saw the fix was in against his team he decided to turn th game into the farce the refs were turning into. It was pretty amazing. If you go back and watch the game you'll see the Spurs players laughing in disgust and disbelief. I've seen it a few times in the NBA, but most coaches just take it.

Its about time a coach stood up to an obvious fix. Sh!t needs to start happening more often or refs need to start going missing. NBA is a god damn joke

Silver needs to get rid of this video game crap it's ruining the game. Smoove can't hit a fkn free throw but hits a half court shot that should've counted

As long as these slum dunkers and heave ho chuckers shoot 40% from the FT line, might as well hack the sh!t outta them. Use the league's idiocy against them.
It's also probably still eating Popovich up that he didn't foul against Miami. That non-call ranks right up there with not giving it to Marshawn Lynch on the 1.

No actually I'm on the spurs but it disgust me being a coach myself. Especially intentionally fouling with the lead. They need to change that rule
If your a coach and you say he lost the finals because he did not foul, well, he learned from the loss , that's what a coach should do, you of all people should have more respect for that .
Maybe that's why he's a great coach.
With all that said, yes I agree the rule should be changed to prevent such things.
But the rule is what it is and Pop did nothing more than plan a powerful stratergy within the rules that helped him win.
Not Pop's fault, it's the rule's fault.
Change the rule, here one way, any intentional foul or foul to a player off the ball if he is standing in 3 pt land he takes 3 FT.

They do need to address the intentional fouling because it makes games hard to watch. First off, the NBA does not suck. I've finally realized after watching for a lot of years that the average fan doesn't understand basketball. That has to be the case since you'd have to be an idiot to think college basketball is better than the pros. They can't run proper sets, shoot like trash and generally play bad basketball.
There's a huge leap from high school to college and then the pros. It might actually be the biggest transition besides baseball. It's so hard for scouts to project the players from college. All they do is go on their athletic ability and the stats but fail to evaluate whether they can understand a playbook and know how to position themselves properly on plays, including rotations, switches and rebounding. Kemba Walker, for example, is not an NBA player. Charlotte will be a much better team when those morons running the organization realize it.
