Playing Tim Duncan down the stretch instead of Blair.  He showed nothing out there and played like a giant box to be honest.  He couldn't even get off of his feet and looked annoyed to even be in the game.  He turned the ball over, missed a wide open layup in the fourth, missed his free throws, had the ball knocked out of his hand a bunch AND DIDN'T LOOK LIKE HE CARED MUCH EITHER.  I know he's old, i know hes injured.  But man the fuck for one game you box.

ya a club handed rookie was the answer for the pressure situations in the 4th qtr.

Yeah Im going to have to agree with this Duncan was actually a momentum killer coming out the half & when the Spurs made a run to take the lead or be tied he would turn it over and then they were down by 4-5. Even if he isnt scoring at least he would rebound or play some D which he was a non factor in every aspect of the game tonight. I had the Spurs. But the Suns was definitely the better team.

That's your opinion but its not mine.  Gentry sticks with dragic when he plays well all the time.  And don't talk about pressure situations.  This isn't a freshman in college this is an NBA player.  If anybody didn't handle the pressure it was Tim Duncan.

I love Dejaun Blair but his offensive capability is not more advanced than a freshman in college. You gotta stick with Timmie there. All the Spurs were missing shots and layups. Tim was uncharacteristically prone to TO's tonight, but can happen to a big man from time to time. Blair is not gonna be  a spark like Dragic was last night, we can both agree on that.

Duncan was a complete momentum killer. Amare was punking him left and right downlow. Did a great job boxing out. he did alot of great things that wont show up in the boxscore.

Amare is too quick for Blair too. All that size comes at a price you know. Amare might be punking the likes of Kobe and Ron Artest in a while. It will be interesting to see.

Kobe wont be guarding Amare, so i dont think he needs to worry about that. I like the bigs the Lakers can throw out there. Odom will do a more than adequate job against Dudley/Frye, even Artest. The more i think about it, the more i think the Lakers take it in 5.

ya that 8 man rotation is nasty but guys like Jason Richardson, Grant Hill, Stoudemire and Nash will give them a chance at least. And if the bench was serviceable, but it still seems like a stretch.

you going to play a rookie over a vet down the stretch in a elimination playoff game? watch much basketball?
even dragic in game 3, when he went off for 20 points, was in there as nash's backup late in the 4th. gentry didn't trust him to close the game out no matter how great he was playing because he had no experience and was a rookie after all.

Duncan is a G though so u have to play him. I was just 1 of those games where the basket for the Suns was as big as the ocean.  Cant be mad at the Spurs though they handle theirs againts the Mavs. So its all good "But its all about the Show" L.A

Yea I watch a ton of basketball my man.  At some point, you people have to realize Tim Duncan isn't Tim Duncan anymore.  Whether he's a vet or not, I believe you go with the guys that give you the best chance to win.  I've been a huge fun of Tim Duncan all my life but tonite he just didn't bring ANYTHING.  This is a guy who played the least amount of minutes in his career and is still looking old and washed up.  I understand that its a terrible decision to take him out of the game, but lets be honest here, he didn't give them the best chance to win tonite.  Among many other things, he missed a point blank layup and completely killed the momemtum they had goin.  It was obvious who should have been in the game when they gave Duncan a minute rest in the fourth quarter and Blair saved the ball from goin out of bounds.  Duncan would have never even gone after it, he simply can't move anymore...HOW MANY FLOATERS DID NASH DO IN THE FOURTH AND DUNCAN DIDNT EVEN CHALLENGE HIM?

and what i mean by terrible decision is taking a guy out of a game who has been such an amazing player for so long and has brought u multiple championships.  But its not a terrible decision to take a guy out if he has absolutely nothing in the tank which Duncan looked the part tonite.

In my opinion its stupid to come off of Amare to challenge a floater from Nash.  I'd rather take the floater than the easy alley.  Duncan's missed layup looked like a foul to me, granted though he still should have finished.  Blair missed a layup earlier in the game with no one around him.  I realize Duncan is old but Blair was not guaranteed to be a better alternative.

For those of you who have it on DVR watch game 3. Watch in the ending part of the 3rd quarter when the Suns started to make that big run. Coach Pop had that really evil grin on his face. IMO the Spurs just did not care.
