Forgive for my long write up, but here it goes. Made a small 100 dollar deposit and hit a few lucky parlays during the second round of playoffs and my bank roll grew to a k. Couldn't believe how fast I made that kind of money and thought about cashing out.
Was on fire. When the weekend came around I bet on the Clips game 7 against the Spurs, took the right horse in the kentucky derby, and hammered Mayweather against Manny. Thought I'd practice good money management from here on out and I was set.
Weekend comes to an end that's where my bankroll fell apart. Game 1: Clips and Rockets. I got the early line of Houston -4 before CPIII's announcement of being out for that game. Once they were rolling I kept hammering the Rockets live unitll the very end of the game when they lost by double digits. I refused to believe they would lose at home against the weak clips bench. Boom: -450 for the night. Terrible money management.
Then comes game 3 when they were at home, and I kept pounding them live, even at crazy numbers such as +23. Boom... they lost at home by 25. -350 for the night.
Now my bank roll has only $200 and I figured instead of betting every night to pick a spot and go all in. Game 7 Clips at Houston. I figured that might be the best spot to back the Clips. Lost it all.
Now, I now I practiced terrible money management, and I'm not angry that I went bust during these NBA playoffs. But everyday I get up, I can't help to think to myself, why would the Rockets play their best ball when they're down 3-1 in the series? Why couldn't they play this kind of ball game 1 against a Clips team who just came off a physical series with short rest against the Spurs without CPIII in the lineup? Why did it take so long in the series for the Clips weak bench to finally bit them in the arse? Why did I back the Clips in game 7, when they were blowing out the Rockets in the first couple of games?
All these questions, yet I can't come up with a good answer other than I had bad BR management, and I picked both teams at the wrong times?
Clearly I was blinded by something in this series. Makes me question sports gambling all together. Any advice going forward would be greatly appreciated.

First, let me say I'm that sorry that you lost. That sucks man.
But the answer to your question is simple-
Sports is rigged. Don't listen to these idiots on here that tell you it isn't. They say vegas doesn't care about money...or make money from the sports. Man, those people make retards look like geniuses.
The whole series obvious was rigged to fool everybody, including myself. Look even my elite azz was on the clippers for game 7 and they got me for everything.

IMO Sports are compelling, superior and more popular than other forms of entertainment (and religion) because it is real. It's real and often it is hard to understand. It's hard to understand because crazy stuff happens that defy logic and the drama is real because this is real life and these are real people trying to do something.
Gambling is called gambling because it's a gamble! It's tough to win and there's always a chance to lose in every game.
I love sports more than gambling and I intend to keep it that way -- win or lose. Personally I find it disgusting that people choose to decide that sports are rigged and are not real -- don't confuse religion or The Young & The Restless with the San Antonio Spurs, New England Patriots, Duke Blue Devils, or whomever.

Firstly, the margins in sport are thin. That's why sportsbook's make money (not because they rig the games). The Clippers controlled this series through four games and were clearly the better team but once they gave the Rockets confidence and lost belief in themselves, mentally they gave away the edge and were never able to wrestle it back.
Secondly, there are some fantastic opportunities live betting but it is a much more volatile option than betting pre game. This is simply because you have to make quick decisions and you can often trick yourself into believing you are making new, separate bets when you are actually making interlinked bets. I would advise perfecting your money management skills in the calm waters of pre game betting with time to think your decisions and liabilities through, but if you would like to stay involved set a maximum limit for the game and once you are exposed for that much lay off. It is too easy to place a chase bet if your first one is looking bad early.

First of all the Horse and Boxing cannot be included in your NBA results
Also why do you refuse to believe? Do you know how to watch a game? See if certain players are doing well, momentum, deviation from mean, etc.
It sounds like you did not adjust, Clippers were the better team for first 4 games. After game 6 loss, you should know that Rockets could win game 7. Its close so you can't just bet the Clips big there.

dont listen to the rigtards. you got to a high roll by practicing bad MM and lost it all the same way. It's a very difficult thing to turn on and off. like most bettors i have had similar expeirences. greed is why casinos and SB's make steady money and why you lost yours. Best advice if you dont have a large roll is play heavy and pick spots till you hit a goal, set aside or withdrawl a certain amount larger than your deposit, and play steady and slow with the remaining. Or just practice good MM from the jump, but most of us dont like to bet 5/10$ a game lol. bol moving forward bud.

oh and if you live bet, make a maximum number of bets/money your willing to place..chasing live is a bankroll killer and has done me dirty before. with self control it can be a great way to get good number. without it can eat your roll, like it does to most

Its not just bankroll, the poster obviously did not adjust or read the series correctly. I picked only game 4 and game 6 for the last few games of the series.
Bankroll is a big part but if a person is not good at capping then well you are going to lose a lot eventually.
Ah so your advice is always bet on the eventual winner?
Sage advice my friend you are one profound individual

You really are incredibly nieve and an imbecile if you think EVERY game is rigged. Do you understand the planning, coordination, $ exchange, and logistics that would go into that? You clearly have no idea. Sure once in a while there is a chance of something fishy in a lower-level league but to make asinine statements like "all sports and all games are rigged" is just stupid and irresponsible.
Books just know what they are doing and the lines are extremely sharp. IF you want to believe your poor capping and losses and fixes go for it just stfu about it then because thats not the case.

Probably best to just make one bet and a few live bets to try to middle/hedge but don't overdo the live bets. You'll lose track of how much you spent next thing you know you'll be down a lot.
Sip on that plus money honey!

First of all thanks for all the responses, (good and bad).
UkCrazy: Good post. Only thing I disagree with you is that Vegas did not set sharp lines within this series. Even they could not predict the outcome of most, if not all of those games. Every game the spread seemed like it was off by 15+ points.
"set a maximum limit for the game and once you are exposed for that much lay off. It is too easy to place a chase bet if your first one is looking bad early. "
Going to practice that going forward. Thanks.

Good advice. Think I'm going to start small but bet aggressively, picking and choosing 1 game over the course of a few nights. No point in making 15 dollar wagers.
Like I said, awful adjustments by me, I just cant wrap my mind around backing both teams at their lowest performances. That's what Kills me. May have to stay away from live betting all together.
