Duncan had four years of polish to his game when he entered the NBA.
Davis was never really counted upont to score, so we'll see.
And yes, Bayless is an idiot.

i will third the motion in saying that skip bayless is an idiot....
on a side note, i don't know how good tim duncan was after his first year of college compared to davis right now, but a lot of basketball savants will tell you that tim duncan would have been a top 5 pick, if not number 1 pick regardless of the year he came out, including right out of high school.

Davis has a better looking shooting stroke than Duncan. He was a point guard his first 2 years in high school -- he has guard skills. I don't really get why everyone is comparing Davis to Duncan they are very different on the court. I see the similarities in mental maturity and good attitude etc. but they are very different playing styles. Duncan's body is a load.. he uses it to carve out shooting angles and get rebounds, a very powerful player. There really is no comparison for Davis in my opinion. He is basically a 7 footer with a Mutombo wingspan who can run the floor like a guard. I watched every minute of every game he played this year and I have seen him do all the things the above posters said aren't part of his game. Post moves? Hook shots? 15-footers? He did all of those things, and he will only get better at them. He is not as powerful as Duncan and won't catch the ball and back guys down and take turn around bank shots like Duncan, I agree there... he will be more of a face up player but he already has post moves in his game. He is already a better shot blocker than Duncan ever was, an unbelievable ball handler for his size, unbelievable leaping ability, agility, quickness, speed. There has never been a player with this size and skill set in the history of the league.

Durant is an inch shorter and 15 pounds lighter and doesn't block shots or grab boards like Davis. Durant is a better shooter and quicker with the ball obviously... the 2 guys' skillsets are so different. Also, Davis could add a little weight and maybe grow another inch.
