Yes, there is value in placing wagers during the game. However, the juice is higher in-play wagers. Also, you're losing value if you have a strong play on a dog plus the points or even a favorite minus the points prior to the game. Furthermore, there is no guarantee your in-play wager will win. For example, no one in their right mind would have taken the Spurs to comeback and win tonight. I was fortunate to place a bet with the Spurs pregame.

That's the problem with watching a game. You are geared to think that way rather than have a set strategy and bet accordingly. The lines don't lie most of the time. Now that we know it was trap line. GS was not the side from the very beginning. ONLY reason I loved it.

Yes, I enjoy having a "set strategy' and placing wagers pregame as well. In-play wagering also helps me minimize my loses if the game is not going in my team's favor and bet with the opposing team. In regards to GS, I wouldn't have placed a bet against them if I had known definitively Steph was going to play tonight. I just couldn't pass on the opportunity with the Spurs plus the points at home tonight with the possibility of Steph not being in the line-up.

Got it. I stop doing live bets for a while unless I have cash to burn. Steph was definitely going to play according to the Roto starting lineup which is pretty reliable.

The line was moving towards the Spurs, and I prefer to get as many points before it dropped all the way to 3 before the game. Every point is precious to me if I am taking a dog. There have been so many times half a point or even a point as helped me. Steph was expected to play, but not probable.

You're absolutely right.......
But your theory is applicable to O/U betting.
With inplay betting, you can evaluate the play of both teams which helps immensely to estimate an approximate final score, something you cannot do with pre game betting. I would argue that player injuries, home teams, back to back games, etc. are irrelevant. Your focus is simply on the rate at which both teams are scoring, continuity and of course, a favorable O/U number when it's time to place your bet. Furthermore, the odds do not change to any significant degree from beginning to the end of the game. You might even have the opportunity to select better odds with inplay betting than you would pre game.
You're on the right track. Pregame betting and particularly pre game ML and Spread betting......... is for the birds!

Not a bad idea. Been looking at that myself. Lots of times, you can take the DOG ML pre-game, and if they go on a run or if the fave starts off slow or goes on a drought, you can get the FAVE ML at + odds and guarantee a winner.

Seems like a good idea…
I’ve had games when I wanted to bet live to get a better number and it never shifted my way though. The added juice sucks too sometimes. If it’s a close spread calling for a tight game this might be great. Not sure why everyone wouldn’t do this…be nice to look up data where it shows how many times the lead changed and by how many points.

I probably pay more money in taxes on my sportbetting income each year than you earn.
As far as being "a dead bird" is concerned, you're not the first chick to tell me that. And you probably won't be the last.......

Granted you will have some games were you wont be able to apply this strategy but but in the vast majority you would yesterday exemple dallas was was downn by 6 at the half and by 9 early in the third line was a lot higher then pregame +124.Maybe is best solution to put some money pre game lets say 1/5 of the intended wager to mitigate a risk of the underdog blowout from the get go like nets game but this is only applicable for big dd dogs for the soft line no imo.

You crack me up! Creating multiple accounts to respond to your own thread. I will not disclose how I discovered it. Your pathetic attempt at seeking attention or becoming a tout is comical. If you're frustrated from consistently losing and needing an answer to your own thread, don't make references to only "birds" place bets before the games start. You're INSULTING all the solid cappers who have good intentions of posting their plays. Since you're desperate to keep this thread alive, have fun playing with yourself. "You're on the right track." I provided you with of some cons, but not pros. My intent was to leave a positive response to a person who seem to be in need. I have my own CPA that does my taxes. I am more concerned about preserving my assets than paying taxes. I can confidently say that I pay more taxes than you. Keep focusing only on o/u betting and continue to be rejected by "chicks." lol
