Time to open up the campaign.
Charlotte Hornets @ Orlando Magic: Hornets -2The Magic played average against the Heat the other night and got the win thanks to the Heat shooting below 40% in that game. For the Magic, 4 out of their 5 starters were negative -7 or more for plus/minus ratings and their bench saved them. The entire Hornets starting 5 were negative as well for plus/minus ratings so I expect that to change a lot in this game against a Magic team I feel was pumped up for their game vs Miami and are in a bad spot for the Hornets. When Magic allowed 45% or less from the field last season, the following game they were just 4-16 S/U after. I really like this new small ball the Hornets are playing with under Borrego and feel as though that is going to be key against the Magic. They have the players to play his style and Clifford was too fixated on his style for so many seasons. They face their old coach in this game and I think they will want to impress in front of him. They stuck together vs the Bucks the other night and almost pulled off the win if it wasn't for Batum getting an ugly shot off and completely missing the basket. Magic got a good win vs the Heat in their season opener but I think they may fall back to reality. Really like the signing of Parker as well as an experienced mentor for Kemba. Kemba went off the other day vs Bucks dropping 40+ and I just think this is a good spot to take the Hornets to get their season off and running.
