Not a bad preseason run for me considering I've never touched preseason NBA before. +4 units for preseason which isn't bad since most of the bets were for 0.5 unit pulls. I didn't want to put a hit on my bankroll before the season started. Hopefully some of you who followed my picks made some extra money for your NBA bankroll.
Now onto the good stuff:
I usually don't touch the first month or so of the NBA but if and when I choose to take a few bets, it's usually for 0.5 or 2 units at most. Probably won't be any smash bets this early in the season unless I see something I just can't turn down. Keep in mind, there is no such thing as a lock!!!
Here are my two cents for the 3game NBA kick off.
WAS@CLE -5
I really like CLE -5 here for a few reasons. By now everyone probably already knows that Nene and Wall will be out. A frequent counter for that argument is that Uncle Drew just came off a 4 tooth wisdom teeth extraction but he's coming off of rest and should be ready to kick off the NBA season. I don't see oral surgery to affect his play much if at all in this season opener. He practiced this past Sunday which means that he should be near 100% healed from his surgery. He might've lost 5 pounds throughout the healing period but those 5 pounds shouldn't make a big difference since he plays less with strength and more with agility and quickness. Dion Waiter has made the starting line up which is a big emotional boost for him. Although he started off the preseason with subpar performances, he has steadily elevated his play with each game. Look for him to play hard and efficiently because he wants to keep his spot. Anderson Varejao, no matter how ugly his playstyle looks, is effective and will be more so without Nene to challenge him and force him to play scrappier than usual. I also like the UNDER in this game at 188.5. With John Wall and Nene out, look for WAS to slow the pace of the game. Their not going to want to play in favor of Kyrie's uptempo style. I see more half court sets and less possessions and that'll help the game hold under. I don't see either team breaking 90 this game.
As always, follow at your own risk.

cavs are not an uptempo team, theyre far from it. irving is an uptempo player. but in today's nba, name 1guard under 27yrs who isnt uptempo right? wizards is trying to become an uptempo team. they had to do it or they would lose their franchise player. so they added players who can keep up. you see, in the nba uptempo means the ability of your team(all 5) to change the rhythm(tempo) of they play by running the court from 1 arc to the other efficiently. any player can go speedy gonzalez individually but not all can run in rhythm & efficiently. uptempo also means on defense. in this case, is to slow the other team down by running faster in rhythm and efficiently(transition pts). there are few in nba who can do this(heat, okc, chicago last year with drose, lakers last year 1st unit, spurs 1unit, and 76ers). as a team you also have to account team's 2unit. back to this game, my initial leans were wiz +points and over but i realized im not putting my $ on 2 of the worst nba teams on 1st season game. not worth it. i see over bc i kinda see wiz dictating a style from start which would lead to cavs @home with irving to catch up or lead @ some point pushing the over. the reason why im passing is bc i asked myself this. if both team were @ full roster & healthy and spread @ +/-6, would i choose cavs-6? nope. in the case line would likely be 2 1/2 to 4pt. both lines started sharp and are still sharp so no play for me. gl i hope you win it buddy!
