Bellinelli and Robinson are below average players who are punching way above their weight because of the impressive system the coach has created.

Thib even made Deng and Noah(average-players too) freakin all-stars. No matter what roster you give him he'll make them great. 

He was also the genius behind the Celtics amazing defensive system that won the championship. After he left they fell apart. Guys is genius

lol below average players Nate Robinson maybe a journeyman but if u look closer he always was a spark coming off the bench for his previous teams.guy definitely can play and is one of the most underrated players in this league mainly because of his size never stood a chance of playing more minutes and now with Rose out and Hinrich's chronic injuries finally gets his time to shine.guy simply never had enough minutes to show his real value before finds his home in chicago.such a great story he is.

Belinellis pretty much the same case.pure shooter something between manu ginobili and peja stojakovic scored 37 points in his very first nba summer league game after being drafted.never  received enough minutes and played for trashy teams earlier.

sometimes its all about the place and a team.i dont think Thib created something really special just gave those guys some space and minutes they needed to show their value.

I think being a great coach is not only being able to utilize your players the right way, but also maximizing their potential to be the players they should be. I think Thib is masterful at doing these where not many coaches are able to.

Check out the Knicks for instance. I think neither teams played to their expectations this season. They got what we would say, very good players on paper. But how did they perform? What did injury prone Amare do when he wasn't injured? Jack shiet.

Sasha Vujacic could never miss a 3-pt shot during the summer league. So what? Last year's rookie, Casper Ware, was tearing it up during the summer league. Where is he now? 

I do agree that sometimes it's all about the place and team for these players. But you can't take anything from the man, Thib. He made the Bulls team relevant again, even without Rose.

agreed, we are watching an emerging superstar right before our eyes. this kid is only going to get better and now has been called on to score with all the injuries and is doing just that

Bogaty- I really hope your kidding!! Coaching plays a huge part in sports especially basketball with all the stopping and game adjustments on the go. Who's going to matchup on who? Are you going to hedge on picks? Switch on ball screens? Go over or under picks? What kind of system are you going to play? I could go on for a long time a coach has a lot to do with a teams success. Yes you need talented players but you also need a great coach as well to win titles and become bigtime. This is a remarkable job what the bulls coach tommy thib has done. With the d rose I injury all season and all the injuries they have dealt with in the playoffs and to take down Brooklyn and beat Miami in the first game is unbelievable. Even if the bulls lose out and go down to the heat 4-1 the bulls still had a great year considering all the injures and everything and tommy thib is without a doubt an elite coach and in my opioion one of the top 3 coaches right now in the league.

Are you serious? Hinrich completely owned Williams. It was when Hinrich got hurt that Willliams started getting into his game because Nate was a bad matchup for him. Then Thib saw that and  put Butler on him which resulted a success. Hinrich was excellent too though. Deng is the motor of this team, you cant say they play better without him. Plus they have no bench.

lets not forget his championship coaching history.  before he joined the bulls, he was with the celtics who won a title. and before that he was with the knicks that went to the finals and lost.  this guy is a hall of fame coach if he can continue to do his thing.  this guy will definitely be wearing a ring or two before he's done with the league.

I agree that team plays a lot faster when Deng is on; however he was inconsistent all year long...  When he is NOT scoring, he doesn’t make up for it on the defensive end…  Again, that starting line-up he had on the floor tonight is his best… 



Amazingly enough I might not disagree with the last sentence.  Well, maybe.  I dunno.  Hinrich was definitely better on Williams.  But in this series, honestly, Robinson can handle Chalmers just fine.  He doesn't have the defensive stress and obviously he can create more offense.  Belinelli over Deng?  I dunno.  But it's tricky.  Butler did such a fantastic job on Lebron.  Deng is usually really good on Lebron, but is he gonna be better than Butler.  I don't know.
