I'm taking the Pistons in the 1st half tonight. This is a buy low and sell high game for me. Pistons have lost 4 in a row and have not looked good doing so. Knicks have won 2 of their last 3, but covering in all 3 games on the road as big dogs. However, the Knicks come back home where they are 4-12 SU and 3-13 ATS. There's a lot of love on the Knicks tonight, but they will be missing Chandler. We all remember what happened when they didn't have Tyson Chandler this year. They stunk. And against a big team like the Pistons, I see this getting ugly on the boards for the Knicks. After a win, playing at home they are 1-6 SU and ATS. On 1 day rest, they are 4-12 ATS. This is their first game home after a 4 game road trip, so I can see some rust. I'm not taking the Pistons for the full game because of this quote by Brandon Jennings..."For some reason, we're just a first-half team," Jennings said. "We aren't coming out with the same energy in the second half, and we've got to find out why. This is ridiculous right now."

They won but didn't cover at home against the Grizzlies the other day when the Griz were on back end of back to back road games. Then they went to LA and beat down a short handed Lakers team. Before that, they had lost 7 in a row, and now they are 7.5 point favorites against a team that is 8-8 ATS on the road? Nuggets are 5-11 ATS at home, 2-4 ATS after a win playing at home. And then you look at the refs and like this game even more. Refs are 46-28 ATS for the road team and 19-9 ATS for the road team when the home team is favored by 5-9.5. My worry is about revenge for the Nuggets, which makes me not want to take the full game. Celtics seem to fade in 2nd halves of games, but Nuggets don't scare me tonight. I think Bayless will give the Celtics a nice boost at PG against Lawson tonight. Like the Celtics 1st half here.

Any thoughts on the Suns game. I need some advice. Took Suns at +2 last night (have two grand on them). How much of that should I hedge by taking the Bulls at +1.5 or +2.5, if I buy it down? I have no feel for this game. Only took the Suns for a middling opportunity.

I like the under in this game tonight. This may be me being too analytical, but I think the Thunder will be fine playing at the Jazz's pace tonight with Utah being 27th in the league in pace this year. They will do this because they have the Nuggets on deck in Denver and will quite possibly want to save their energy for that game in the altitude. I think the Thunder will lock down on D and prevent the Jazz from scoring much tonight as the Thunder are 3rd in defensive efficiency, while the Jazz are 26th in offensive efficiency. Refs are 46-33 for the under this year and 24-15 for the under when the total is from 195-204.5. I don't think the Thunder care to crack 100 tonight and think the Jazz don't crack 90.

Tough game. Suns have been awesome ATS this year, but could struggle tonight in Chicago as the Bulls have locked down on D recently. Thanks for the advice Papa. I agree it's a tough game to cap. From what I hear the Bulls players are pissed about the trade, as is the coach. So they may come out fired up and show the suits that they're not gonna tank (its just the makeup of this team to keep fighting) so now I'm real worried. Here is a link to a related article:
