I wish @dataholicxx1 but those are actually the records for the past 2 seasons of how the top 4 teams in East and West finish the reg season in their last 10 games...and it's the same every year. It is very rare that a team finishes on a 9-1, 8-2 or even 7-3 run. Part of it is rest but most of it is jockeying for the favorable playoff position and bracket if you can. Everyone should be well aware by now of my thread where I believe Lakers will try to grab the 3 seed and/or any seeding that avoids a Lakers/Warriors 1st round match-up.

If I subscribe to those records above, then here are the current records of both East and West top 4 teams:

5-5, 9-1, 6-4, 7-3, 9-1, 9-1, 5-5, 5-5

I think we get correction in those 9-1s. As much as it pains me, as I think Phx has given up, it seems time for Hou to start their slide which would coincide w Lakers crawling up to 2 or 3 seed. Along w Hou, I will be keeping an eye on Celtics as they have room for regression as they are virtually locked into 2 seed.

Rockets have been sitting around since that game at Utah. They might not be as sharp and as sharp at defending the 3 ball. Lats 2 times these teams met in Hou wins, Phx only shot 28 and 26 3pt attempts. Since that last loss, Phx has ramped up their 3pta to gigh 30s low 40s. So I think tonight Phx lives by the 3. If they make them early this could be a solid home win. Going to be eyeing those early 3s. I think they fall tonight.

Saying it after the fact even though I was on Houston myself.

But Phoenix plays no defense so it's not a surprise the Rockets would put up a lot of points.  They're also missing Beal who they traded a lot of depth to get.

Rockets were only ahead of Denver by 1 game for the #2 seed so it made sense that they'd be motivated to get a W - even if Phoenix was playing to stay alive for the play-in hunt.
