How the special performance like Jokic makes it interesting ... it was also a blowout - wait, it is entertaining for the fans (or gamblers) on the side of the blowout.

The three point shot may have a lot to do with it. "Shot variance." "It's a make or miss league." Teams seem to be willing to live and die with the three point shot. So it turns into a "when you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not," game.

Excellent point, back in the day, pint size Allen Iverson, would lower his head and drive the paint, take the abuse, get off the floor and calmly sink 2 free throws. There weren't going to be 27-2 runs against teams like that.

I agree.
I hear people saying all the time that NBA playoffs are way better than the regular season but I'm not sure that's true.
In the regular season there are some really good games but I feel like the playoffs it's blowout city.

The price the NBA head honchos pay for swinging the pendulum too far the other way when they wanted to counteract the defensive-heavy 80s/70s beat 70s/60s scorelines from the Pacers/Pistons/Spurs era of the early-to-mid 2000s. They changed the rules and made it not worth your while to prioritize defense. Now when it's needed, it's nowhere to be had. Cue blowout after blowout.

Real games don't happened like this... world champ scored 1 bucket in 5 minutes! Legalized gambling f u c ks it all up for everyone. I just find it funny how games are going and refs / players r corrupted

I think you're overreacting. I haven't really watched the NBA playoffs, but I've bet on it.
Denver beat the Lakers 4-1, but they were 2-3 ATS, and they had to come back from down 20 to get one of those wins.
The Orlando/Cleveland series went 7 games.
The Wolves/Nuggets series is going 7 games after the away team took the first 4.
The Knicks/Pacers series has had many competitive games. Yes, there were 2 blowouts in a row, but the 3 before that were close.
The Dallas/OKC series has probably been the best series of the playoffs so far. Games 3 and 4 were very close, and OKC had to come back down huge to win game 4.
I don't watch the NBA because the runs are ridiculous. Back in the day if you had an early 18-20 point lead, you probably won 90% of the time. Like I'll see a 9-0 run in like a minute. Why even watch if that's going to happen both both teams every game.
As a person who had Wolves big tonight, I was pretty excited at the 24-2 run. And was even more excited when they went up 50.

Yeah, all these professional players going on scoring droughts even against iffy defense. It's a shit show.
Home court doesn't even mean matter anymore. Teams will just chuck 3s all day and if it doesn't go in, they figure it wasn't their night and they'll do the same next game and should regress back to the average and hit them (or more).

NBA has always been manipulated, but NEVER like this. Live betting is crazy. Teams always jump out to big leads in NBA, but anyone knows that a 20 point lead can dissolve in a matter of minutes. So they live bet +19 +20 +22 etc. then you end up having a 40 point blowout.
Legalization is the worst thing that ever happened to gambling.
