they score 112 first half and now 117 does not make sense

It honestly doesn’t make much sense because if it’s a total blowout or complete divergence from the original total, they can’t set the line at the remainder... would be way to easy.
As an example, I’d totally points is 200 and they have 130 at the half, they can’t open the 2H total at 70. Would make no sense.

I’m pretty sure that’s not what the books did... generally there’s more scoring in the 2nd half. 112 points first half so they raised it some.. ????

It's not like that exactly but if you pay attention to 1H lines and the FG lines you can generally deduce what the 2H line will be.
Look at Bills v Pats tonight, they score 31 in the 1H, o/u was 23.5 and 2H line was still 23.5 and FG was 47. They don't just make the line based off the half score. Lakers 1H was 113 and FG was 229.
Of course it's not as simple as adding numbers but that's why they still set the total so high.
