My guess is they are putting a lot of stock into the Pistons winning streak, or could be that they match up well against the Hawks in previous meetings.. *shrug*

Detroit winning streak and how they are playing.

Detroit at home.

Look at Atlanta's schedule. West coast swing, one quick emotional win at home against a good team and then back out on the road.

Doesn't mean they won't win and cover, but those are factors.

&#xD;&#xA;How so?  If anything, this is a worse spot for Detroit.  Detroit&#x27;s home games have been dead for a while now and now they go back home and will probably have a sold out rocking crowd.  This can work as a negative just as easily as a positive when the team isn&#x27;t used to it.  They get to hyped up and really want to play well for the crowd and end up making mistakes because of it.  &#xD;&#xA;This is what happened to the Hawks.  In late December, they went on the road and beat Clev, Hous and Dallas.  They then came home and beat the Clippers.  Their next game was a home game against the Bucks and it was the first sold-out game, against a team with no superstar, in years.  Everybody in that arena was there to see the Hawks and they didn&#x27;t know how to react.  Milwaukee beat them by 30.

I&#x27;m not talking about Detroit and a crazy home crowd.  And they haven&#x27;t even sniffed PLAYOFF contention....Atlanta is in the discussion for best team in the east. Not the same.  And this is Detroit&#x27;s first home game after a roadie, not 2nd.  There can be a difference (often times, the first home game is like a road game and the SECOND home game is where you can have trouble....according to an NBA coach I trust).It is not the best spot for Detroit...I agree.  It&#x27;s a worse spot for Atlanta.I&#x27;m also not saying Detroit is a cinch to cover.  Someone asked about the line and I offered an opinion.

I live 3 miles from the Palace and the buzz around here has been alarming since we haven&#x27;t been excited about this team for a stretch. Tickets are flying around town as we&#x27;re getting hyped for tonights contest. I&#x27;m having a hard time making a call cause I feel that I&#x27;m not able to get my hear out of the equation... Should be fun to watch for us locals though. Go Stones!!

Why you say? Pistons on a 7 game win streak, while Hawks won 6 straight. Pistons at home. Why do you bet on a game you know nothing about other than the team with a better record giving only 3 points?

Detroit has been on fire, but I like ATL, who are also playing very well. The spread was -2.5 when I got it this morning.

To say "bet Detroit because they are on fire" is stupid... Hawks are on fire and have been for longer.

Detroit has won their last 2 games on the road against good West teams.. if anything this is an emotional time for them, not Hawks, and are prone to letting that get the worst of them tonight..

Detroit can win SU... but not worth betting on...
