Porzingus at the perimeter is a problem. It spreads out the Dallas defense and brings their centers up to the 3- point line.
Then they throw screens in the mix and Porzingus is shooting on smaller players. It's a big problem...
He also looks like he's towering over everybody...
Mavs manhandled Gobert but Porzingus did not look soft at all and only played 20 minutes!
I wonder the changes they are going to make too..
mavs just need more effort luka played like 10 mins of defense lol hardy and washington had more points then kyrie and to top that off mavs had 4 players in double digits to celtics 6 players in double digits. porgingus swinging those high elbows and knees in the first, made the mavs not want any part of him any where, then whites back to back 3s set up the rest of the game.
Bad matchup for Mavs. Boston too deep on wings and at guard.
Mavs bigs are also not skilled, so they cannot really draw KP and Horford away from rim for protection. Gafford and Lively cannot make anything outside of 5 feet from the basket. KP and Horford also know how to defend a pick and roll and Boston does not play that stupid a$$ drop coverage that Minny played when Gobert could not make a decision on who to guard. Boston in 6 at the most.
Porzingis length and defense will be a problem however long he is on the court. He was the C’s best offensive and defensive player last night. Dallas will have to play a different offensive game. They are allowing Luka to drive or take step back 3’s, which are the lowest percentage shots in the game. They don’t care if he makes pull ups inside the 3 point line. Kyrie doesn’t have any chance. All of his shots were difficult and he’s the shortest guy on the floor. PJ Washington will have to average 25-30 because they want him to shoot.
not to mention brown is one of the smartest people in the nba and him missing those 2 free throws on purpose for his total to go under is wild missed by 1 or 2 mind boggling. luka pulled 5 mins before the end and his total missed by .5 points what happens if he doesnt play next game it fits bostons playoff run to get here. there was like 6 players in total that had that same under idea. the script was a hollywood movie last night winnig by 18 with mavs not really pushing the issue except in the first 5 mins of the game, dont remember if they called a timeout lol and the public all over the mavs series but for game 1, 50 percent was on celtics ml -200 lol. and mavs had more points in the paint 46 to 38.

It will still be a good series but they're not gonna win. I never thought they would, neither did the oddsmakers. They are so much more savvy than the teams the Mavs beat so far. Minnesota looked tired. They couldn't figure out how to stop giving up open shots, got exposed every which way on defense and the Mavs simply shot extremely hot.
These young guys draft picks they got are nice for the future but the Cs have a truly great starting 5 and a team built in a way that makes sense unlike having 2 centers playing at the same time and one has no offense and the other only shoots jumpers has no defense and neither has any game IQ neither has any consistency and neither has any post moves. And Ant is a mental midget. holiday and white are totally different types of players.
