He will. He is lucky that the bullet didn’t hit a great vessel and that he didn’t sustain an aortic injury which would have killed him instantly, or a spinal cord injury that would have left him paralyzed. He mostly likely sustained a traumatic pneumothorax, which is a collapsed lung. It can be fixed with a minor surgical procedure which is a chest tube. Usually requires a few days for the tube to be in for the lung to be re-expanded, and he will probably miss 2 weeks but should be back out there after that.
