There is no doubt in my mind, Jamaal Charles, Alex Smith, and Co don't play today....or if they do....they play 1 series. Reid's history shows he buys into the "resting" of players when a spot is clinched.
In 2004, the Eagles were 13-1 and had sewn up the #1 seed. Reid rested McNabb/Westbrook etc etc the final two weeks and they got crushed 20-7 at St Louis and the last week, 38-10 at home vs the Bengals. In 2010, Eagles were flying high after Desean Jackson's game winning punt return vs the Giants to clinch a spot at 10-4. The lose to Minnesota at home 24-14....so they can't get a bye and in the season finale, starters are rested and the Cowboys come in to Philly and win 14-13....again, all starters rested.
KC's fate was probably determined before last week and Indy just went into KC and kicked their teeth in. With Bowe and Hali already listed as out. Reid and Co will rest starters at San Diego and focus on a probable re-match at Indy next week.
