A google search wouldn't answer the question...which was how many 'PUBLIC' favorites have won the Superbowl the last 25 years? A public favorite can be an underdog plus the points as well. 

To answer that, one would require data that is not available to the general public. We are not privvy to real numbers on numbers of bets and money totals wagered on both sides. AND no, not all games are wagered evenly with both sides being equal despite line movements. The stuff of fantasyland. 

Seems the public favorite this time is Philadelphia which is the betting favorite. When was the last public dog a winner in the Superbowl? 

I think it was Brady and the Bucs. Nick Fole Eagles were too if memory serves correct

I thought I read recently the money was fairly split but the ticket numbers were EAGLES ??
