Ok folks here we go i'm about to break this down for ya'll how I see it.
We got the Falcons at 1-3 yeah they gotta get a win here, and they are desperate and in front of the home fans. After that debacle last week against the Pats, this whole Falcons organization from the head coach to Matt Ryan and that defense have to be feeling like they have got to prove something here and man up. The Falcons have played some good teams to start the year and are not a 1-3 team even with all the injuries they should at worst by 2-2.
Now we got the Jets that are a surprising 2-2 which I'd say for them is overachieving. Rookie QB in Geno Smith is being helped by a pretty decent defense. This team is so so, nothing spectacular. And they haven't really played anybody good in my opinion other then New England and that was early 2nd game of the year and Brady was just trying to get his whole offensive situation sorted out with what they got in New England so that close game could be a little misleading. And when they played a nice Tennessee team you see they got blown out.
Conclusion: I looked at both sides of this game from how the Jets could keep it close to how the Falcons could blow out the Jets or atleast cover. From taking both into consideration, I gotta go with the Falcons covering more than I can see the Jets keeping it close. The reason i'm siding with the Falcons here is that no way in hell am I taking a Rookie QB on the road against Matt Ryan in Atlanta. If this was on the road, maybe i'd still be debating. But Falcons at home, in a get right type of game for them at 1-3 it's Falcons or nothing. I think this is a a get right game for the Falcons defense and their offense. Jets are not protecting Geno Smith all that great he's taking some sacks so falcons should force him into some mistakes with decent pressure.
The Pick: Falcons -9 (Bought a half point)

What about your defense? Geno has an arm on him....with time I could see him lighting up the atlanta D. plus almost 70% of the public is on atlanta and the line is dropping? It was at 10, down to 9.5, back to 10, now back to 9.5 at my book. I think theres going to be a lot of scoring tonight. and I guess in that case id take atlanta. but something seems weird to me.

I think this is very similar to when SF went into RAMs house and needed to feel good about themselves when they left. I know ATL is at home...but same situation for them. They need this game to feel better about the direction there going in.......and who better other than the JAGs to get that feeling with, than the JETS.
Not going to be a pretty game....I see conservative play calling by both teams by the second half. No one wants to make a mistake that will blow the game out of control.
Although I'm going against my formula of betting an Under when teams are indoors, that's what I'm doing tonight. My book has the total at 45.5.
BOL to both of us

IMHO, the books are now hip to what the bettor thinks. I have been tracking spreads for years and I have never seen a season like this as far as reading the spreads go.
For example, last night the line went from 7 to 4 and the favorite blew out the dog. The number did not CROSS a key number however. This weekend one of the few that crossed a key number was New Mexico...went all the way to 12 at kick form 7. Ga went from 10 to 12.5 but really no key mumbers crossed and Tenn almost won.

I think Atlanta will take more chances than the Jets being at home . Home teams will take more chances. Falcons defense is suspect, but Geno Smith is just a rookie QB. Falcons get up early in this one and keep their foot on the pedal.

Asante Samuel is back as well. I'd factor that into the pass D.

Your post seems a bit misleading doesn't it. The Jets have played no one except for the Pats.....and maybe Titans. Make all the excuses for Mrs. Brady and the Pats. The Jets were without their starting slot receiver, tight end and linebacker ( Coples). They outplayed NE and blew the game. They laid an egg in Tenn with turnovers resulting in 28 points and that actualy may be who they are. The Falcons have not played anyone that's eye appealing including New Orleans, who will lose their share of games. You may think you are sitting on a blowout, but I disagree. The Jets will run the ball all night and try to keep this a low scoring close contest. I see it that way. BOL to you!
