Texans +4.5
To me this is an inflated line, plain and simple. The public tends to have short memories and what is most fresh in their minds is the spanking this Ravens team just laid down last sunday against the Bengals. Sorry, but the fact it was against that sorry Cincinnati club takes a lot of the shine off it for me. Don't get me wrong, the Ravens are good, really good. And I do expect them to be a legit contender come the post season. But this is all about perception and numbers mixed with reality. At least reality through my own lens. I see this as a close, close game and will gladly take what I consider generous points. Anything over a FG and I am good to go with the Texans. Houston is off the bye week and have had plenty of time to game plan for Lamar Jackson. This shapes up as what might be the most competitive and entertaining game played sunday. The Ravens are 7-2 and most everyone's latest "hot" team to ride. But the stubborn fact is the Texans are quietly 6-3 and in a fight of their own with the Colts for the divisional title. And while Jackson is grabbing most the headlines I am perfectly fine banking on a strong performance by Deshauên Watson. The Texans have now prevailed in four of their last five games themselves. It's the NFL and when the least expected happens the winning bettors were a step ahead and expected it. I say if they can avoid a rough turnover day the Texans go toe to toe with the Ravens and take this to the end. We will once again be more than grateful to have the points in our pockets come crunch time. I like Houston here, a lot. And one other nugget Deshaun Watson has only lost one game in his entire career by more than eight points. Watson plays close games. Let's take this barking DOG.
