I don't usually play dogs a great deal, especially ML, but week 17 of the NFL provides a different opportunity than most. I am curious to hear thoughts on these:
San Diego +190 - I think it is a revenge spot for SD after gagging one up in Arrowhead earlier this year, and buying "low" after Chargers lose in Cleveland. Yes, I know SD offense is beat up and KC has the potential #2 to play for....
Browns +197 - Will Hue Jackson try to build momentum? Pittsburgh with nothing to play for and Cleveland should have covered the last time vs. Pit
NYG +250 - coming off a bad week but with nothing to play for. This is more of a will the Redskins choke play (with visions of the Carolina game recently)
Dolphins +350 - Yes I know the Pats have the #1 to play for but I have seen that movie before (I am a Pats fan). I wouldn't make this play because of homerism, but to be fair this number is pretty big, and Miami may need some revenge from getting smoked by JG earlier. Game was a complete washout. Can Miami move up to play Houston in WC round?
Detroit +165 - Did Detroit just say "screw it" last week once the avalanche started knowing this was the week to take care of? I was hoping this line was better to be honest. I know it is not good business to fade a hot Rodgers also.
Have not pulled the trigger on any yet, envision Cleveland and San Diego as top choices. Thanks for any help/discussion and happy new year!

detroit seems highly unlikely to win. The pack on a 5 game win streak and Aaron Rodgers is known to have MVP type caliber month in December. Also the second half dud the lions had against the cowboys might be a bit de-motivating coming into this game. That being said im betting Packers -3 as my game of the week.

Chargers Jets .. i don't know about the Browns .. you would think Cleveland would understand they have the number 1 pick in the draft locked up with a loss but it doesn't seem to matter this year .. maybe its because of Goff being such a bust

Don't touch the Chargers. They're terrible this year. Chiefs will win this game, i think HeadCoach getting fired after this game. My underdog ML picks to win outright:
-Bears
-Cowboys
-Giants
(Lets assume you're playing $100 per underdog ML) Personally i don't believe in playing the Underdog ML unless you're getting at least double your value (ML+200 or higher). Anything under +200, you're better off playing the spread instead. If you win, you're only winning a little bit more. But the odds are against you, in the sense that if you win the ML its less than a hundred more, but if you lose, its like a -200 swing because instead of betting 100 to cover the spread, which would've won, you got greedy trying to win a few more bucks. Thats my personal rule on Underdog MLs.

It doesn't ever matter to the players on the field. Not one player in history of the sport has tanked to help his teams draft position! You realize that draft pick may be coming in to replace one of the guys playing right? Upper management only ones who care about draft position and last I checked they don't participate in game.
