What is going on Covers brothers. We have a good one for tonight. I am on the NYJ SB future pre-seasaon, and to say the team has been a let down so far would be an understatement.
However, this is a prime spot for them. How did we get here? Well, look back at the losses. It turns out, the NYJ were a kick away from beating the Broncos, a team that has a much better defense than we anticipated at the time. A game they never should have lost. Then, the following week, the guys sleepwalk through the first half only to be right in the game against the Vikings and one Aaron Rodgers overthrow to G. Wilson for a game winning TD.
Should have. Would have. Could have. I know....
But looking at this team, defense has always been their strength. It is very unfortunate that Robert Saleh was the fall guy for Nathanial Hacketts play calling in the first half and Aaron Rodgers under performance. The defense is graded #2 in total defense and the boys will be up for a fight this game. This is their chance to show the world.
Let us remember the last game at the East Rutherford where the Jets beat up on a poor Pats team. They will get up for this game. The "dead coach bounce" should be in full effect, and the Jets get healthy with Morgan Moses back at right tackle. Expect a ton of run against this Bills defense to set up the passing game for Rodgers. The switch to Todd Downing gives me some pause when it comes to game management and how Aaron will feel in the is game. Yes, the play calling will be different and Aaron mobility seems to be an issue, especially after taking an absolute beating last game against the Vikings.
But I think a sound running attack to set Rodgers up in the passing game will be the formula for success in this game at home. The wrong team honestly is favored in this spot. We have a home dog, on MNF, with the dead coach bounce, highly motivated to salvage their seasons against a divisional opponent who is playing their THIRD game on the road and coming off of two losses. Oh, and the public has been betting the Bills all week yet we get line movement for the Jets going from +2.5 to 1.5 now at the time of kickoff. Yeah, I know it can look and feel ugly but give me the NYJ on MNF....
I locked it in earlier this week.
NYJ +2 (-105)
