Chargers +8 and Under 41 Teaser

Should be a low scoring suckfest, as predicted. Lots of running, lots of short passes. Battle of field position and punters/kickers.

Justin Herbert hasn't lost a road game by more than 7 points since 2021. 

The Steelers have a big problem at RT. Their 2023 first round pick Broderick Jones was such a bust that they used their 2024 first round pick on another RT and that guy just got put on IR. Jones was benched last week after committing 3 penalties over a 6 play span vs the Broncos. It's going to be a long day for him against Mack and Bosa.

I like the Wong play moving Chargers from 2 to 8, and with the Steelers average total at 24 and Chargers average total at 31.5, even with a small sample size there is a long way to go to get to 41+.

I like it a lot, my only hesitation with this is if Easton Stick plays instead of Herbert and turnovers leading to field position and points. Just hate going against Pitt at home.

I think Stick is a decent backup, granted he was 0-4 in his only starts which all came last year, but 3 of the games were close, and he went blow for blow against Josh Allen and the Bills in a game the Chargers lost by 2 on a last second field goal. He's been with the Chargers 5 years and got most of the reps in practice this week. A downgrade for sure but he does add a running threat.

I think the main selling thing for me is that the Chargers have such solid bookends on offense, among the best in the NFL. I just think the Steelers RT situation will be a nightmare, drive killer with sacks and penalties. They do not really have any alternative to Jones at this point, I think their next best option is a rookie OG at RT.

Interesting line movement in the last few minutes, the spread jumped to Steelers -3 and then got bet back down to -2.5 quickly.

Well already locked in my bet so should make for good theater.
