Should have been Darrelle Revis, 100% no question....
I think a few players could have gotten the nod this year, but I can't disagree with Woodson. He was a monster all year....their secondary seemed to be in big trouble after losing Al Harris for the season. It seemed that every time the ball went his way, he was making huge plays.
He racked up 74 tackles which is just as impressive as the 9 sacks and 3 pick 6's in my opinion. Throw in the forced fumbles and sacks and you're talking about the top of the class in cornerbacks this year.

We will find out this week....but there is no question that Reivs is the defensive player of the year.

My bad...you are correct.

Oh, don't get me wrong I love Woodson, best player in Mich football history, but as a Jets and Mich fan it is tough for me to bash woodson...don't remember who said it before but thats so true if you a dominant shutdown corner you won't accumulate stats because teams won't throw to you- less INTS, less tackles, less opportunities to force fumbles, everything. For Defensive Player of the year, statistics should be a secondary factor

Granted, Revis had an inhuman year. HOWEVER, this is a game of numbers and stats... guys get awards and deals based on stats. Woodson had 9 sacks... NINE... thats more than most starting DEs in the league. That kind of production coming from a CB is jaw dropping... not to mention the other forced turnovers and the 3 pick 6's. Revis maybe the guy you pick to anchor a defense in order to build a dynasty, but Woodson (at least this season) is the guy who lights up the scoreboard and deserves the award.
