Huge game tonight for KC, excited to see them in the national spotlight for once. I think they are quickly proving to people what a lot of us Chiefs fans have seen and thought for a while: They have a legit defense. If anyone is curious to see the thoughts for last week's DAL/KC game check here:
I didn't play the game but I think it held true to what I was expecting, a close win and other than Dez going absolutely insane in the first quarter the defense played very well.
Tough Spot for the Chiefs:
Week two I was excited about because I felt it would tell me a lot more about a ton of these teams. KC proved to me that week one wasn't a fluke, that they have top 10 talent on defense and some issues on offense. I was on PHI 1H last week but they let me down there, Kelly's offense will put up yards but week two was a step back for me. I believe the Chiefs are a better overall team than Philly, and defensively they are the best team the Eagles have played so far. Here's the downside though.
Short week, going east: Both teams are on a short week but always tougher on the traveling team, KC loses some time.
Key Injuries: This is the only reason I'm not putting a higher bet on this game or the game line. Fasano is out and he's been a key to the offense so far. Alex Smith hasn't built a strong chemistry with Bowe yet and Fasano has been making solid plays when needed from the TE position. Flowers should play but if he doesn't that is a large concern. We have depth, with Smith and Robinson who both signed this offseason however, Flowers is by far our best CB. He struggled with the size of Bryant last week but should fare much better against the Eagles WRs.
Eagles unique offense: If there's one team you would want a full week to game prep and watch tape this would be the one. On the bright side, Andy should know the players, and Sutton has been intrigued by Kelly and has admitted to watching lots of past tape from the Oregon days and even week one and two.
Play: Under 49.5
The Chiefs injuries concern me but overall they should still matchup decently and be the best defense the Eagles have faced thus far. They have speed in the secondary and linebacker positions and Eric Berry's versatility should be an advantage. Derrick Johnson probably will get the spy work on Vick, he's done well in that role in the past. KC tends to blitz and be very aggressive in their new scheme so the wildcard here is staying disciplined and not being beat by screen plays or quick hitters. It should be a fun matchup, I believe KC has the #2 run defense and PHI has the #2 run offense.
On the other side of the coin, I'm not sold on the eagles defense at all. However, KC isn't exactly an explosive offense right now. I'm banking on them being able to sustain drives, run the football and have Alex manage the game. If they can put together some solid drives and keep the chains moving on 3rd down I like this game to slow more than Philly would like.
Lots of variables tonight, I wish KC didn't catch Philly on a short thursday with injuries otherwise it'd be a more confident play but, hey that's life. BOL!

Great write up. Insightful and detailed. I wanna go big on this too but I'm primarily a baseball bettor so much of my energy and focus is on a very exciting finish to the MLB season. Lets get this yo!

I love the under. See these two hitting 43-45 tops.
The short week-albeit a concern-still doesn't scare me too much. I have KC winning or losing 24-21 or 23-20. Another 1 pt. win or loss would not surprise me.
Kudos!
