They were far enough up the field that they had to try for a TD and not just take the 3. If they kicked the FG with 30 seconds left and they got the onside kick they would still need about 60 yards in less then 30 seconds with no timeouts. The play that did it was the completion in front of the goal line. I don't question the logic to go for 6 and then 3.
Oh, and if you really think Fisher bet on the game (your crazy) but wouldn't he have bet Colts -3? Easier to sabotage then get your team to show up IMO.
