What is up Covers brothers. This one deserves a write up. Being from Dallas, I get to see my beloved Dallas Cowboys take on my beloved GB Packers, the team that I picked to win it all this year.
As you may recall, I had the Rams last year at 14/1. This year, I made a futures bet on the Packers for ~8 dimes in two separate bets (16/1 odds in the preseason, 12/1 when the season started) at the same Vegas SB. This was a phenomenal bet (in theory). The GB Packers had just won 13 games the past three seasons, were the #1 seed at Lambeau and were just 1 game shy of going to the SB. They were projected to be a top 3 defense with stars at every position. Kenny Clark (DT), Rashan Gary (LB), De'Vondre Campbell (LB), Jaire Alexander and Rasul Douglas at CB.
Things clearly have not panned out the way that I had hoped. Devonte Adams left and the WR room failed to stay produce and to stay healthy. Decimated by injuries and having lost 5 games straight, including recent losses to the Lions and the Commanders. Nobody in their right mind would take the Packers in this spot, right? This is precisely why I love this game. All of the pundits have already written of the Packers. Over 60% of those polled by ESPN have the Cowboys winning this game. Even in the betting markets, money seems to be coming in heavy on the Cowboys but the line stands firm at 3.5-4 points.
Why the Packers?
If you you have spent any significant amount of time watching the Cowboys over the years, you know how disappointing they can be. This is exactly the kind of game where they drop the ball fail to win and cover. They travel to Lambeau to face an angry Packers team that has been listening to the media roast them and write them off for the past week. Aaron Rodgers, the two time back to back MVP has actually had to listen to idiot suggest that Jordan Love get playing time over him. Do you have any idea what kind of fire that is going to light under him? He has owned the Dallas Cowboys and today will be no different. It will all start in the run game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon who should run right through this porous Dallas run defense. That will set up the play action and passing game. The only real, concerning issue with this matchup is the protection that GB can afford to protect AR since Dallas leads the leagues in sacks. I look for the Packers to establish the run early to help open up their playbook and I do think that they will catch the Cowboys sleeping in this spot.
On the flip side, the loss of Eric Stokes at corner is not that big of a blow, as a matter of fact. Despite being a top pick at the position he has really been exposed this year and having Pro Bowler Rasul Douglas step up to play corner like he did last year should be a tremendous help to the defense. The presence of Rashan Gary will be greatly missed too but Kinglsey Enagbare and Preston Smith should be able to generate some pressure on Dak.
There is still plenty of talent on both sides of the ball on this GB team and it is absolutely crazy to me that they could be at home as a 4 point dog, with anger and revenge on their mind after listening to pundits suggest that the back-to-back MVP the bad man Aaron Rodgers be benched for who Jordan Love? Please.
GB Packers +4 (10 Unit MAX play)

What's the weather supposed to be like at start and during the game?
The great thing about handicapping and betting sports is that everyone comes with their selection and as long as you have thoughts and analysis behind your selection you are good. Many (and me as well LOL) may disagree with your selection but at least you have the conviction to make it and tell us why. Being a Redskins fan I would love to see your prediction come through.
Good luck !

As tough of a year it has been for the Packers and my massive futures bet, and the devastating loss of Rashan Gary, and even the loss of Eric Stokes, it was a big, BIG win for my Packers.
GO PACK GO!!

Came back here to send Congrats your way. Love to see handicappers study a game and come up with their choice and having the guts and courage to play it despite it not being the consensus or popular pick. We see this every night in every league - upsets. NBA, NHL and NFL - when you don't think a team has a chance not only to cover but to win they do. Got to love this sports betting.
Congrats again !! Enjoy the win....and your profits!

Great pieceice of capping Sir. Take EMOTION out and doing hard work is what it is all about. I myself had Packers as a 3 and 1/2 point spread VERY LOUDLY told America what the correct play was here. Best of luck to you!!
