He's just guessing what the line will be... but that is definitely NOT what the line will be. HF advantage for the 49ers is 3.5 points, so this line would suggest that bookmakers and the betting public think Dallas and SF are even on a neutral field.

HF advantage and the 2 extra days of rest and preparation are already worth 3.4-4.5 points, if these teams are considered even on a neutral field. Do you consider these two teams to be a pick'em on a neutral field?

Maybe the books do think they're even... 49ers did have a creampuff schedule this year. I just figured there was a lot more love for the 49ers than for the Cowboys. 

 

Wherever they open the line, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't get up to 5 at some point.

 I could see it getting up to 5. I think the books realize how good the cowboys defense is and I don’t think they think as highly of purdy as the public seems to. I think books could set it at 4 ish and leave it there bc I think they’ll welcome the San Fran money

You could be right. My impression is that the public thinks the Cowboys are over-rated, but I do agree books might not be buying into Purdy.

 

I still think this line will settle above 4... but we'll see.
