and just won the division? That could be one of the worst class acts i have ever seen in 45 years betting. I hope the cowboys get blown out in their first playoff game. There was zero reason for those 3 points. Mcarthy is scum and i hope he gets some karma coming his way

Like most said here it was to give the kid confidence in his kicking. He had one blocked and another one he missed. Good on Dallas to get him in position to get another fg try.

The guy who's representing the NFC in the Pro Bowl as the kicker needs a shot of confidence? Really? Or did his needless FG cover the over 47.5? I know the NFL purists want to believe these games aren't manipulated, but.....they are.

First off i had no bets on this game and just turned it on for last few minutes of the game, cause thats the game i was getting in my area. Most coaches in that spot just go for it on 4th down and dont kick the fg. I doubt your pro bowl kicker needs confidence because 1 kick got blocked, not his fault and hitting the goal post is just bad luck. Now trying a 50 yarder, could have back fired had he missed it with the so called getting him confidence. Like one other poster said, makes you wonder if that was for the total. Either way kick didnt affect me either way, i still think mcarthy was a dick for kicking it and karma will get him in the playoffs.

He's a first year kicker, soccer convert, who never even played football until his chick suggested he try out for the USFL this past season. The Cowboys had well documented kicking issues down the stretch and in the playoffs last year, hence they go into the off-season with no plan at kicker. They bring a cast off veteran and this kid into camp, and they both proceed to stink up the place. Most people who follow the team though the kicker wasn't on the roster when camp broke but the team decides to give the kid a shot without the veteran looking over his shoulder. He starts to hit his kicks. He wins over the coaches, the front office, and the fans. He wins the job, comes into the season and proceeds to not miss. Up until today when he has one blocked and then clanks one. Of course they give him one to get his confidence back. They have let him take shots all year at points when modern metrics would dictate not too. They love him. Jerry loves him. The fans love him. He's not some washed veteran has been. He's our guy. And Cowboys nation loves our guys to a fault. Of course they let him kick. This kid went from the couch to kicking for the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs in less than a year's time. Of course they kicked it.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

Kicker confidence can get shook in a hurry especially a young kicker that should be considered a rookie since it’s his first year in the NFL. I’m glad they gave him another opportunity to get back some of that confidence going into the playoffs. Good thing he nailed it and not backfire on them.
I don’t think it had anything to do with manipulation but to each his own.

You must not remember that sports betting is legal now? That FG was nothing in comparison to the amount of $$$ that exchanged hands at the end of the Falcons-Saints game. The Saints -30.5 was enough to make a losing bettor profitable for the entire season. You’ll see even more of this now so best to not complain and profit from it.
