Maybe i should avoid this game but i need some action and i won last thursday, so lets see if i can do it again..
That being said. i get it. that it's tough to take the banged up Texans here.., short week, on the road with rookie QB Deshaun Watson and an O-line that gave up 10 sacks! On top of that, 7 players are out including Brian Cushing who is suspended for 10 games!
But lets not overreact here. What you saw of the final score was not indicative of a blowout. The Texans had every chance to get right back into that game going into Jaguar scoring territory only to cough it back up with a turnover! The Jags converted 16 pts off of 3 Texan turnovers.. the score really should have been 13-7. The same could be said for the Bengals. They should have scored anywhere from 6 to 13 pts and it would have been a 20-13 score not a shutout if it wasnt for all the interceptions from Andy Dalton. Truth be told these two teams are remarkably similar in every aspect. Inconsistent QB and coaches, undisciplined players, and their teams cant seem to win the big game.
But like i said again lets not overreact to what we saw in week 1. Both teams were embarassed and they will make adjustments. I heard from the Bengals side that the RBs said they will focus more on running the ball. they should fare better against the Texans run defense. The Bengals run defense aint that much better in fact its slightly worse than the Texans when middling backs can gain a combined 160+ yards on their defense. Lamar Miller is a much better back than Terrance West and Buck Allen. Expect alot of running from both sides. Both O-lines are a wash as we saw in week 1 so pass protection may not be the greatest which means they will alleviate that by running the ball more. the Texans will not allow 10 sacks again, maybe 2 or 3 this time. Deshaun Watson's mobility in the pocket will be key here. As long as the Texans dont turn over the ball 4 times they will be right in this game. I think people are forgetting that the Texans defense is still the better unit here The defensive front will once again put some pressure on Dalton and give him some problems. The Bengals to me are not worth 6 points better than the Texans but i do like the total here because there will be alot of running and focus on not turning the ball over. I dont expect the Texans to win this game they never seem to on Thursday night but i do expect a much better effort and Deshaun Watson to surprise the Bengals defense and give them some problems given they have a short week to prepare.
The pick: Under 38
Bonus pick: Texans +6
Sip on that plus money honey!

Typically a lurker, but just wanted to say I appreciate the write ups you do. Keep up the good work.
I got the under 38.5 a few days ago and totally agree.
Also made a small wager on a ML parlay of Texans, Raiders, Seahawks, Falcons. The idea is if the Texans can win this one I should be able to hedge the Falcons leg by taking Packers ML at plus odds and guarantee profit as long as the Seahawks and raiders take care of business at home against a couple of BAD football teams.

Bold to take the Texans here but if you win then you have got over the most difficult leg! Most definitely Raiders and Seahawks wont lose. I like your strategy. BOL!

Like them both DigitalAnd I understand it's also Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson's birthday today so sprinkle something on that money line for yourself......After all nothing is better then having yourself as well as your teammates playing hard and coming away with a victory for Watson, The team, the Fans and The city of Houston in dire need of some separation from that bad taste of Harvey that has had all of Houston in shambles and disbelief......Go Houston!

was not surprised the way this game played out. thought bengals would win it eventually but bengals self-destructed with costly penalties. Texans had the better defense on the field i knew that beforehand. not only did they hold the lead but manage to win it! Couldn't pull the trigger myself but Congrats Texans ML backers,!! wasn't easy...
