Tonight the Patriots: -scored 25+ pts -had 400+ total yds -outgained their opponent -completed 70.0% of their passes -had < 60 penalty yds -had no turnovers -had no missed FG NFL teams in the Super Bowl era were 170-0 entering tonight (reg & post) when doing all that in a game.
Well make it 170-1. How in the fk lol.streaks were meant to be broken.

I wonder if they are cherry picking stats, if you look at other parts of the game Vikings won those, so why aren't those important when determining the winner ?
Vikes had more 1st downs by 6, Vikes far more efficient on 3rd down 8 of 15 to a pathetic 3 of 10 for Pats and Pats were 0-1 on 4th down, makes it even worse since Vikes never went for it on 4th.
Vikes had a big 12:30 time of possession advantage. Vikes had 3 fewer penalties for 35 fewer yards, both teams had 3 punts but Vikes ave 11.7 yards more. that is 35.1 yards of field position plus 35 yards of penalty advantage that is additional 70.1 yards unless of course punts went into end zone. But Pats only had a 51 advantage in total yards which Vikes got that back.
Vikes also returned a special teams kickoff for a TD while Pats did not , just throw this one area in there and likely get much different result. But add all the areas Pats lost into that information yahoo has and I'm quite sure it won't be 170-0.
If they just want to cherry pick ONLY the stats Pats won with no consideration to all areas the Pats lost I don't see how that'd be very meaningful or accurate.

It was an uncharacteristic game for the Pats, as defense and ST usually never let them down.
They gave the Vikings 5 first downs via penalties. And as you mentioned the kick return TD.
I'm not making excuses for the Pats or blaming the refs. It's just how it happened.
Next week I would not want to be a player for the Pats in practice or that film room. Belichick is going to put the screws to them. They are 5 pt dogs at home vs the Bills, both teams on 10 days rest.
