Forum??-Which teams must win this wk or face elimination

by elimination I mean out of playoff race--regardless of what other teams do?

any help would be appreciated

RAMS  Seattle  49ers    but 49ers are playing Rams

Giants  must win @ GB , GB must win

COLTS must win  Jags must win

Chargers must win Raiders must win for WC    KC can win div with a win

there is a long list of teams on the bubble as you see

NFC is clear   with DIV winners and WC's 

NFC south  Saints falcons   NFC North  Bears DIV Champs Packers must win out to get WC 

WHICH they will do because bears will not play week 17 up at GB in a meaningless game

AFC    the Wc's are up in air except for ravens

Patriots have div JETS are in hunt for WC 

THE afc West WC is cloudy  KC wins div no doubt 

BUT raiders are in WC with Chargers and Raiders  get tie breaker

because they beat DEN and SD twice and KC once

weird isnt it ?

I understand some of the above--but what I mean is win this week or out period--it appears to me that is the case with 49's? win or out of race

I cannot wait to read the expert responses in this thread and hope they come. Not very clear so far.

Yes, the 49ers have to win this weekend and that is an absolute. If they lose they are eliminated. (NFCW expert here, pity me) Seahawks and Rams could both theoretically lose and still win the division.

Not sure about the Giants but it seems almost certain that this is a win or die situation for the Packers, since the Saints will have a wildcard spot and they would lose the tiebreaker to the Giants with a loss to them, and they are already a game behind them anyway. 99.99% sure this is a must win for them. Really, it has to be.

Not sure about any of the rest.

Teams with the need to win in these situations have had a ppor spread record in recent years. Especially the non division leaders.

Doesn't everyone know about Yahoo's Playoff Scenario by now?  (I thought everyone did.  It's been around several years now.)

Enter the result for the games you're interested in, for both Week 16 and Week 17 and the scenario automatically tells you who is in, and what seed they are.

Colts is a must win..... I'm laying alot on Colts moneyline.. this is a playoff game for them

I cannot urge you strongly enough to change your plan of action.  Tylorp, if you do three things today to better yourself, let them be these three things:

 

1) Ditch your ill-advised Colts moneyline idea.

2) Place double the amount you were going to throw away on tired old Indy and fire it instead on the Oakland moneyline.

3) And last but certainly not least, stop spelling "a lot" as if it was one word

 

 

Now get out there and make us all proud!

Couldn't say it "bet"er.....colts are public property and Oak (McFadden) will tool up indy's D line and D'b's. Thats, scary!  Shit, I'm talking my boy down on this one...ha...ha!

Jaguars, Chiefs, Giants are 3 teams with strong running games that failed to win or cover against the Colts this year. Two of the best offenses in football (Patriots and Eagles) failed to cover against the Colts after blowing big leads. The Raiders still have average quarterback play and as much as I want to take the Raiders, the Colts seem to find a way to cover even when it seems they are outmatched. Somehow they shut down the Jaguars running game last week and got a fluke cover at the end with an onside kick run back for a touchdown. This is a tough call as i've been on the losing end of several of those earlier games I mentioned going against the Colts.

the thing i find craziest is that if stl beats the 49ers but then loses to the seahawks in seattle ,  the hawks get in at 7-9 , so this is not a must win for seattle unless the 49ers beat stl,  crazy!.

i like that is the bears win, they basically have the 2nd seed all locked up, which is huge.  the jets on the other hand , are basically stuck in the 3 seed spot .
