As the line has flipped, presumably due to Ertz playing. Had a bit of the +2 that was around early in the week but happily took the moneyline today as well.
The matchup in the trenches is very similar to Houston vs Buffalo yesterday and the Eagles have a significant advantage there. They sacked Wilson 6 times last time, Cox was dominating anyone that he went against, and now they have their starting guard out. On the flip side, while Lane Johnson isnt 100% he will play and the Seattle pass rush isnt anything great, that's why they brought in Clowney and he isnt 100% either hasnt practiced fully all week.
In the first matchup Philly had 5 turnovers, Seattle had 2. Seattle had 348 yards, philly 344. So 3 extra possessions and only 4 more yards. And of those 348 yards 129 was from rashad penny who is out. Even their lone TD scorer Turner is out. Despite the injuries to Phillys WRs the Hawks dont have a major advantage there, Lockett is good but other than that its jusr Moore and Metcalf who is young. Their TEs are nowhere near Phillys tandem. Wilson does a great job of spreading it around and had an excellent 15 yards per completion the 1st game, but a lot of that was due to Philly stacking up vs the run. An out of shape Lynch and a rookie aren't guaranteed to have that type of success to cause the D to creep up.
Of course, similar to Houston game yesterday we have a QB starting his first playoff game which hasnt been a good situation. But Wentz hasnt thrown a pick in at least 3 games and he is at home, and if Pederson can beat the GOAT in the SB with Nick Foles he can certainly scheme up something for a below average Seattle defense.
Carroll had a chance to knock off NE and took the ball out of the hands of the best power RB in the league on the 1 yard line. Pederson called Philly Philly and took the trophy home. He's done an amazing job to get Philly in the playoffs, theyre playing with house money at this point
Seattle has been great on the road. Philly has been great in that dog role in the playoffs. Well, they're not a dog now, but I think they pull out one more win despite that and despite Wentz lack of playoff experience, as Seattle Defense isnt scary, he's faced it before.
Last time a (non div) team beat a team in the reg season and in the playoffs in their place was the Jags vs Pitt. But that was the year of Sacksonville, and in both games Big Ben threw multiple picks, the first game 2 of them were fluky deflections. Seattle doesn't have that type of pass rush and Wentz isnt throwing
In the last 3 games the Eagles red zone defense has only allowed TDs 33% of the time while Seattle is allowing 75%. Offensively its pretty even, both teams are in the upper 60s for the year and mid 70s the last 3 games but Eagles are slightly better.
They win a tight one IMO.
