I already see a Problem for the Packers against the Bears

Running the ball.   

The Bears have only given up 56 yards rushing in two games.  Best in the NFL.   Houston is next with 62.    That front seven of the Bears is NO JOKE     when Tommie Harris and Urlacher are healthy and now that they have Julius Peppers.     Briggs.

The Packers are playing with backup / unproven runnings backs and their offensive line has been a bit shaky so far.  The Packers might be starting a rookie Left Tackle (Bulaga) in this game against Peppers.       Granted, Bulaga might be better than Chad Clifton at this point but a rookie against Peppers doesn't sound too good.

The Bears shut Jahvid Best of the Lions down to almost nothing and the guy runs wild against Philly yesterday.

They might force the Packers to be one dimensional.    

And the Packers secondary is starting two rookies for Cutler to pick on.    They have been OK so far but this also doesn't sound too good.

The game is in Chicago on Monday Night Football and it's obviously going to be a HUGE game for the Bears.

Just talking.      Not making a pick.   

Pulled this excerpt from a Packers beat writer article about yesterdays game.    

"Unlike last week, McCarthy loaded up early with extra tight ends and Quinn Johnson at fullback to give his new backfield a chance to establish itself. It wasn't until the sixth play - an eternity for McCarthy - before the Packers went to shotgun formation.

The line had problems blocking the Bills' stout front three, especially nose tackle Kyle Williams and right end Dwan Edwards. Starter Brandon Jackson was unimpressive, and John Kuhn did make a few nice cuts later on.

In all, the running backs combined for 71 yards in 22 carries, a disappointing average of 3.2 per carry against a defense missing its best linebacker (Paul Posluszny) and playing almost the entire way with both safeties back.

Even when the Packers used a three-tight end formation with one back, the Bills got away with keeping extra defensive backs on the field just in case it was a pass.

"I don't think I've ever seen that," said McCarthy."

Another thing about those two rookies in the Packers secondary.   Buffalo can't pass the ball AT ALL and Kevin Kolb of Philly was horrible while he was in there.   

They really haven't been tested by a guy like Cutler.   

I know Mike Vick burned one of the rookies, Sam Shields the nickel back, for a TD in the second half of that game.

The Packers are actually averaging more yards rushing per game than the Bears are  111 vs 70.   

Packers 3.7 per carry.   Bears 2.8 per carry.

But the Packers are giving up 136 yards rushing per game and the Bears like I said only 28 yards per game.    

This is good news because I'm a Bears fan.

I'm often reminded that 90% of what people talk about in football means nothing.  The better uglies in the trenches determines the game.

Not COMPLETELY convinced of their run defense though. I never thought much of Julius Peppers as a suprme run stopper. Am I missing somethign there?

Id like to see them do it a few more weeks before I am completely convinced at they are a legitimate run stopping defense I dunno.

Dallas couldn't run the ball against a high school team so take that with a grain of salt. 

I have your Packers to win the division at plus money and I am LOVING it.  Told ya to bet it.

i like the packers to do some nice things this yr just like alot of people do but this is a bad spot for them this week . ill prolly just bet on their tt like i have every game last yr and this yr also .

i love their tt for the 2nd half too, always look in at that when i look at halftime lines .Last week it was 14  and i was pissed i was scared to bet 3units on it because it looked to easy only bet one and it was that easy This is gonna be a great game

Gonna be a hell of a game but Im leaning Bears and heres why.

Monday Night Football in the windy city...I mean shits gonna be banannas come monday night. The Bears will most likely play out of their bodies. If Greenbay cant run, wont run, then just like in Week 1 against the Lions the Bears will tape their ears back and hunt down Rodgers. J. Peppers is still the most feared DE when it comes to rushing the QB. He should have little problem with that Packers O line. With a finally healthy Urlacher and Briggs playing at an extremely high level, I truly believe you wont see the Pack score more that 20 points, maybe 23....Martz and Cutler seem to be like warm cookies and milk...they just go good together. And boy is it showing on offense. Blitz the Bears? o...ok then they just start firing short hot routes til your down by 6. Lay back you say? Good shit they just pound the horsecock outta ya with Forte. Chicago is gonna win this game and Ill be 1st to say the Division too.

I wouldn't expect much out of GB's running game without Grant.  I'm looking for Rodgers to air it out and for Chicago to be ready for it.  I like the Bears in this spot.  Hopefully we can get some more points before next Monday

So if you subtract that they are giving up 85 rushing yards per game.

And don't forget that the Packers were the best team in the league against the run last year.    



So it might not be easy for the Bears to run either.  

A..Nice to see you know your cities.

B..Im a Bears fan and may be a tad bias, but I look at football games for what they are. Bears to me are in a good spot this week. If Grant was in there Id be a little more worried but honestly even with him I feel Bears are good this week. Someone else said it as well as can be said...No running for pack will equal the Bears waiting for the passes. Say what you want about Rodgers but hes gonna get his fair share of grass in the ol helmet come Monday night. Bears havent had to really blitz much because the front 4 have been doing a pretty good job. When the do blitz like they get sacks. I like Martz to weather the early storm of Matthews and the boys coming with heat, then he will open it up a little. AND BY THE WAY...Hell of a job Mike Tice is doing with a standard O Line (besides Kruetz) at best.
