If illegal formation occurred first, how does roughing the passer overrule such a play? I understand it should be an automatic first down but should Buffalo have gotten those yards and another 15yds on top. That had to be the most lopsided call I’ve ever seen regardless if it’s by rule.
Im on Buffalo so I’m not complaining but that was a gift. I just don’t get how that is fair game. It really isn’t. They should have given Buffalo the difference of 5 yds.

@SuperSlapem I completely agree wtf. I still can’t justify how that happened. How can the offensive team decline the penalty against themselves? I’m lost lol
Yea that’s a very gray area and rules need to be fixed. No way a team that committed the first penalty deserve damn near 40 yards or whatever it was. I jumped out my damn chair when it happened though. Nice to be on the right side of a very sketchy call. I’d love to here what they say about this later in the week.

i'm not watching the game, but following on espn "gamecast" and as i understood it there were two penalties on the Steelers on that play along with Bills single penalty as well. The Bills formation penalty and whatever the other penalty was aside from the personal foul on Pitt washed each other out, but the fact that Pitt committed a penalty that was a personal foul then it was enforced. that's how i took it at least
