These two division rivals face each other for the second time this year with Jacksonville prevailing 23-21 in their first meeting TY...
Indianapolis comes in with a 7 game winning streak and hoping to lock up the 5th spot in the playoffs as a wild card entry .
I am not impressed with the manner in which the Colts disposed of their last 7 opponents .
Indianapolis went 3-3-1 ATS these last 7 games against opponents with a 19-49-1 record SU .
Indianapolis has 10 wins for the year , but 7 of them were by less than a TD.
Indianapolis last 5 opponents were Houston , San Diego, Cleveland , Cincinnati , and Detroit .
While they handled Cincinnati easily 2 weeks ago , the same can't be said about Detroit which managed to equal the scoring @ 21 before winning by 10 in the end .
Both of these victories came @ home and I believe that this 7 game winning streak along with with the Colts offensive output scoring 35 & 31 points has this team a bit overrated .
The true measure of the Colts Offense can be better found in prior games as not only is Jacksonville considerably better defensively ( despite the injuries ) than both Detroit & Cincinnati , but this game will be taking place away from home .
Indianapolis has scored 10, 23, 24, 21, & 14 PPG in their last 5 road games winning 3 of them.
This averages to 18.4 PPG
Let us not forget that it wasn't long ago , in fact last time Indianapolis was on the road were The Colts struggled on offense scoring only 3 points and winning the game through their defense in the fourth quarter .
The Cols were without Jeff Saturday, the veteran center who functions as the network center for the entire offensive and is so instrumental in the change of plays and audibles for this Colts team.
On the other hand , The Colts will be without Marvin Harrison who has 5 TD's and 603 yards receiving but has always been a reliable deep threat for Manning over the years . Reggie Wayne & Dallas Clark will get a little extra attention as a result of Reggie being out .
Indianapolis ranked 29th in the league in rushing offense shouldn't pose much of a threat with either a banged up Joseph Addai or Dominick Rhodes.
Indi has averaged 84.3 rushing yards per game on 3.2 yards per carry .
Indianapolis is averaging 23.1 ppg , and we can't say that that average is not representative of their recent play because the Colts averaged 25.3 Ppg last 3 games and against weak opponents .
In those 3 games , the Colts have averaged 323.3 yards of offense and 5.8 yards per play .
The Jaguars whose defense has given up an average of 22.1 PPG have allowed 23 PPG in their last 3 , while allowing 320 yards of total offense in 5.6 yards per play .
Peyton has been like his old self lately completing a wooping 76.7 % of his passes for 8.0 yards per pass attempt while throwing only 2 interceptions during last 3 games ( QB rating : 104.7 )
How does Jacksonville's defense stack up in last 3 games : They have allowed Qbs to complete 59.3 % of their passes for 7.3 yards per pass attempt
The defense has sacked the QB 4 times and were the recipients of 3 interceptions .
Fumbles could play a part in this game as Indi has coughed it up 8 times ( lost 4 ) last 3 games playing right in the hands of the Jag's defense who have forced 5 fumbles in that span and have not been the recipient of good fortune recovering none of them.
