Absolutely that would have been the thing to do. You control the clock, and keep the other team from coming back to beat you. So many people just don't understand this concept, but I'm glad you do.

Too much time and 2 timeouts for it to matter much. They had 30-40 seconds to spare.
You’re probably right but still the result is the same if you don’t score or if you give the ball back with that much time. That’s what I’m thinking if I’m the coach anyway.

on that last 3rd down. Why didn't they just spread out and throw the ball out of bounce to stop the clock instead of Wilson kneeling and rushing for a field goal? Seemed fishy to begin with.
