A couple of observations after watching the Jets/Pats game. I caught most but not all of the last game between these teams, but what I saw made me think the officiating was slanted in favor of NE. Most blatant was the pick-6 called back on a very questionable roughing the passer call. After watching today's game closely, I thought it was decidedly slanted in the pats favor, and what's worse, I got the impression this particular officiating crew wasn't even trying to appear neutral.
A couple of examples I'll cite, Wilson was sacked on his own 10 YL and lost the ball after he was clearly down. There were two officials less than 10 yards away who couldn't have missed it, but never blew their whistles as the pats picked up the ball and took it in. Another instance that was much more significant was on that punt return the won the game. You can't miss two flagrant clips, one at midfield and another (really dumb) at the end of the play. It's becoming more and more obvious that these games are being decided by the officiating.
Both offensive units were pathetic and scheme wise looked more like high school-level ball. I had a play on the under so it was fine with me but it's surprising to see a Belichik team look like that coming out of the bye, since this has been going on all season. As for the Jets, Zac looked so lost it got to a point by early 3rd quarter where it didn't make sense keeping him in the game. No clue what Saleh was thinking and based on the late-game shots of him on the sidelines, it looked like he was in a trance.
That's another surprise for me, watching that team on the field and the sidelines, they look lifeless.
I do believe I've had enough
