That decision was awful, I agree. He also went for it on 4th and 2 in field goal range early on and they didn't get it. Went for it on another one and they ended up scoring so that was okay. But you don't do that on your own side of the field when you have a 4 pt lead. And you need not one yard but 3.

Immediately after that Seattle scored a TD.

Next possession Goff took the first sack of the game and the very next play he threw a pick6, breaking the longest active streak of pass plays without a pick in the NFL.

These coaches need to realize that messing up these plays can cause huge momentum swings and in this case it caused a big spiral downwards of a quick 14 points.

You punt and the other team, being down 4 points, needs to drive the whole field without a mistake to beat you. A sack, a penalty, a turnover could basically seal their fate.

Then they drove down and could have won it in regulation with a TD but NOW he decides to kick a FG to tie and go to OT - where they never got a chance to win.

Clearly the worst coaching performance (game strategy wise) of the weekend.

The most offensive for me is the classic down by 3 and settle for a FG at the end, instead of pushing to win it and avoid OT.

 thanks for agreeing with me; my brother doesn't follow the nfl because the lions have been bad for so long, due to the cheap ford family; in 1957, the last time the lions won it all, the qtrbck would drink heavily saturday night ;  come into tiger stadium with a hangover,  and get the job done anyway ! my brother follows the wolverines,  my alma mater;  thx !
