What's even sadder is one of these teams will get to HOST a playoff game. I hope this year wakes the NFL up and makes them realize they have to change their playoff format.

Looking a the remaining schedules for these teams Carolina has the easiest by my estimation. Atlanta has the toughest and the Saints is half easy half hard. Tampa has no shot. Carolina for as bad as they've been I think have the advantage in this division. Looking at their remaining schedule they could win out. As bad as they've been they are the last team to go on their bye week and it may have come at the right time. Will be keeping an eye on this.

Agree that their bye last week was good timing. However, the thing is, Carolina would need to win 3 more games out of 5 to get to 6 wins. And while they'd likely win the division with 6 wins (due to their Tie), I just don't see 3 wins left on their schedule.
3 road games. They'll lose at least 2 of these..
@ Minny @ Saints @ Falcons
And 2 home games. They'll likely lose to the Browns who will be fighting hard for a playoff spot..
Tampa Browns
I agree it's not a tough remaining schedule on the surface, but the Panthers are just bad everywhere this year. I see them finishing with 4 or 5 wins max.

A 6-10 team to make it to the playoffs? That will break the NFL history mark, If we exclude strike-shortened 1982 season, 2010 Seahawks (7-9) were the worst regular season team that ever made it to the playoffs.
History is waiting to be made if either Falcons or Saints limping into the playoffs with the 6-10 record.
